It was just starting to push 250, I fattened it up 2 hrs on that last pull

mfrosty 02-28-2009 12:21 PM

After I fattened up the HSN temps were at 230, acceptable for these engines from what I hear.

Thats what everybody is saying...yours sounded real good and seems to idle well also.Guess I have to get my head wrapped around the warmer temps and leave the temp gun in my tool box and tune by ear:nod:

This thing will idle rock solid for over a minute!

I'm close but I think I need to play with the LSN a bit more. I'm also going to switch from .9 to 1.0 clutch springs to give it a little more punch off the line.

lowcountrytj 02-28-2009 01:52 PM

I have the Go 3 sport so I imagine there is a big difference in performance between the two,but I need to play with my clutch setup a bit and find what works for mine.I have plenty top end but I lag in punch.I have a Losi 8 b(1.0)

What tooth clutch bell, what springs and what pipe are you running?

Keep in mind that my Go has been modded by Pro Twister, it's not a stocker :)

From the length of that vid (4:14) (ran about 3 minutes before I started filming) I had a little less than a half a tank. I should be getting around 10+ minute run times out of this bad boy too!

lowcountrytj 02-28-2009 04:01 PM

Yeah ,that makes it all the more different...I have an Ofna 053,13T,2Alum/2comp.I would have to look at it again to tell you the springs.I am currently waiting on a clutch kit by Losi.I have new Dynamite shoes(alum)I will be trying different set ups soon.
So,you like the Twister engine so far...I was looking into the EB mod and putting some feelers out to see what people thought of those.

FUEL ECONOMY UPDATE

Last week I was running my GO 3-port with a JP-3, after a 5 minute qualifier I was on fumes, I had to pit 2-3x for a 15 minute main. I switched to a Dynamite 007HT and believe it or not after the 1+5 minute qualifier I had 1/2 a tank left. Amazing. Granted I did switch from 30%-25%. I ran 8 minutes in the main today and still had fuel left over according to my pit guy. I'm impressed, and I'm now just beginning to lean it out as its got 2 gallons on it now. I'm impressed at just how well this cheap/underpowered engine pushes a truggy around.

Hey all, I have been running the go's for 3 years now, this will be my 3rd year.
Chris Dewinter turned me on to them. I have several of the go's and last year I bought a couple of the 21 3 port race motor. I ran the B21 last year in my buggy and this year I am running the R21. What is the diff between the 2? The B21 kick but last year with a jp4 pipe and 30% bryons. So which pipe would be go for this R21 and is there any issue's with this R21. I don't see alot of talk about them, beside an o ring issue, any thing else???
Thanks in advance Jim

Anybody?????

If you scan back over the last 10 or so pages you will find all the info you need.
Basically the best pipe for the 3 Port R Spec is the GO FEMCA 0801 or the GO 2047 with the 0801 header.
OS P3 or P4 plugs. Seems all the GO motors like a slightly rich top end and a lean bottom for best performance. That's it in a nutshell. You will be impressed with the Gen5 GO motors. They are very good performers for the price.

For brute power i use GO 2047 pipe, for smooth power delivery and fuel economy GO 0801 ... best plugs for me C4 and C5 from novarossi, on my .25 6 port i do 8.30 minutes runtime on 0801 pipe

cya !!

We got our Eb m5 full mod in the mail Friday, put it in friday night. Really nice not to have to break it in. Ran it a tad on the rich side on Friday for practice. We were running indoors and it was around 50 deg. Didn't have to adjust the tune too much from were Ed had it.
Overall impression is the the motor is smoother than the std. 5 port with more top end. Just firing the buggy up for the first time it didn't seem to vibrate on the box as much. We were running 7 minute quals and came in with 1/3 tank left, seems to have better mileage than the std. 5 port while running lower temps.

Sat. Kendall Tq'ed but the glow plug backed out a tad and it got warm in the main. Still finished 4th with a couple long stops and won the point series.
