Sam, i dont think you would make a wrong choice between those two, if I were to switch brands on TC it would be one of those two

I would say the VBC would be the way to go... you got team right here based in the NW pretty much and they seem to be catching on like Wildfire.

If I had to spend money on a conventional touring car Xray is hard to pass over. With a two year plan its the strongest choice...

Sam,
Here is another option for you to consider. Since you already have an Xray, you could consider the RSD upgrade conversion to bring your car to what would be the most important changes to the new Xray. This consists of new chassis plate and also the new style suspension system with the inserts. I think its about 150.00 and you would still have $$ left over for other racing needs. Check it out before you fully decide.

DO6 comes fully loaded with DJC's and what nots, but I'm still leary about the strength of the arms. Wait till after IIC and see how they both perform.

Hey dudes!
I was wondering, does anyone have any thoughts, opinions, or inside info on the Xray T4'14 vs. the VBC D06? I've been checking the RCTech threads, Facebook, etc. but I can't always find the inside info, so I was curious about thoughts. I'm not always sure who to trust on RCTech, but I trust the locals (you guys!). That's why I thought I'd post here. I realize no one has run the T4'14 of course...
I've pretty much narrowed it down to those two. I'm quite curious to see what goes down at the IIC! I know there are other good cars out there, that said.
Anyway, I've heard that both the Xray and VBC are good cars, but it's a long term investment for me; hopefully I can run whatever car Dean and I settle on for 2 years or more. I want to make an informed choice.
I think I heard that the parts for the VBC will be available locally, so that's a plus. Also, the car is popular in the Northwest with a lot of setup support, another plus. The plastic parts are cheap compared to Xray.
I was leaning toward the T4'14, though, as my T3'12 is fairly indestructible. I think the only Xray brand parts that I've broken over 2 years of racing are two or three rear belts, one rear upright, and one composite shim! Of course, that doesn't include shearing off solid aluminum and even spring steel spool cups... technically not made by Xray, but anyway...
No rush, though. I probably won't get a car til Christmas, though perhaps earlier.
Thanks for any thoughts!
Sam

But as Kody mentioned, how can you ever go wrong with an XRay? With the exception of cost (to some), you've already proven to yourself the durability and value of that purchase. The quality of these kits are damn near unmatched (albeit a few kits that I've owned would beg to differ, lol). I've looked and read everything I could find on the '14 myself, and I'm sold on it.
IMHO, either ride would suffice. Good luck
I'm in the same boat. By the end of the year-ish, its a VBC...the updated Awesomatix (mine is 1st gen)...or the T4 '14.
You're not going to go wrong with either car, Sam. And the main reason for that is your intention to run it for two years. That's enough time to understand how it reacts to different conditions, master the car, and to get some good results for your trouble. I don't think you're going to find anyone who can credibly knock either choice.
