I have been using the Venom $s in my starter box now for almost a year no problems. For the $$$ you can't beat it.

Clutch bell question. I can't seem to move my clutch bell forward enough to center it up with the spur gear. I can't shim it forward anymore because the clutch shoes become exposed. The only thing I can think of is to shim the shoes out more so I can shim the clutch bell out more. I'm sure how far I can go with the shoes though. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks.

Add a shim or two between the flywheel collet and the engine, depending on how far out you have to go.

Thanks. I did look at that but I thought that it might bind the bearing. I'll place some shims there then.

silrey: i, had the same problem you have but with the 4 shoe adsency clutch i whould have to use about 4 shims behind the inner bearing in the clutch bell to get the crankshaft flush with the outer clutch bearing.

even, with one shim behind the collet it wouldnt line up right in the middle of the spur gear so only two or more shims behind the collet whould help really.

im going to have to use two shims behind the collet.

by, the way if a little bit of the shoe its fine as long as its not showing the flat part of the shoes that hit inside the bell somebody told me that before.

some clutch bells dont cover the whole shoe with certain bells.

I just got done adjusting it. I put 4 shims behind the fly wheel and 2 behind the clutch. It's not completly centered but it has full contact now.

Thanks again.

First run on the track of the season today with my RC8T. Despite engine trouble all day the truck ran great.
Ran 7-10-5 in the diff sort of as an experiment, some would probably say it makes it a bit tailhappy, but thats how I like it, and Ive never had so much power out of corners. I would really recommend trying it if youre looking for more onpower steering.

One issue I seem to have though is that the screw that holds the front chassibrace onto the topplate keeps breaking. Ive even put a locnut inbetween those two ridges on the underside of the topplate but the screwhead just breaks right off. Not sure if theres any way to fix that?

You have the screw going through the brace first then through the top plate correct?

Well yea ofcourse otherwise the brace wont fit. It is installed correctly, but the screw is breaking in two, sometimes its bending sometimes the screwhead comes off.

Well you never know. Are you landing on the nose a lot? I have only broke a rear brace and the screw did come loose on me in the front once. Not sure how you are breaking the screw.
