The Losi only has two belts. Many things can effect the motor temp when running the recommended FDR, track size, driving style, speedo setup, etc.

When you guys are quoting temp figures for motors you have just ran. Are these with or without the use of an 'in-car' fan?

I'm gearing my E4JS by temp. If its too hot, I drop the pinion down a couple teeth. Run and check temps again until I hit the acceptable range. I've found so far I run pretty much the same lap times in TA trim with my SS21.5 from 4.2 up to 4.6 FDR. At 4.6 my motor is finally coming off around 145* or so. At 4.2 it was 175*. I'm going to try 4.8 for giggles. I would imagine that as long as I'm not hitting the RPM limit on the motor, I should see no decrease in lap times. I should also see more punch out of the corners. I haven't proven that to myself, but it sure sounds good.

hey guys just got back from a two day race here in tucson az the southwest indoor grand prix. I purchased the original e4 and this was the first time seeing the carpet, been runnin on asphalt. all i can saw was the car was dialed. i started with one of marcos j setup and went from there. the track was a pretty technical track and the car transitioned really well. i also switched from the tc5, but out of the box with minor adjustments the e4 was bomb.

At the end of the weekend i ended up tq plus a win in stock rubber tire. The drive train is pretty tight but i dont think it hurt the performance at all. only negative thing was i broke a rear cvd? didnt hit anything just going down the backstraight and then the next turn it didnt have any rip? i didnt have that as a spare so i used a xray dogbone. If anyone wants the setup shoot me a pm.

Thanks again wolf for supporting a good car and having good customer suopport

Nice job for your first time on the rug with your E4. Did you use a spool or a oneway up front? The CVDs have been redesigned for the FS/RS E4.

Check out wolfhobbies E4 FS/RS on sale for $349.99.

That's funny! I would love too but I have somewhere I have got to be Saturday night at 5pm and that would not allow much racing with the two hour drive for me. I have really go the bug though after this past weekend with the new car.
I hope you like it when you get it, I know you will! Like you need any help going faster!

Hey tom, i was running the spool on the rug. They are on sale now huh probably a good time to pick my foam car up for the snowbirds. Are you a sponsored driver by wolf? Will you be attending the snowbirds?

Hi Milton this is Dave from Strictly/Underground. The E4 is a good car set up right out of the box. What tires are you using at the Track? CS27 or Sorex 28 work well with Jack the Gripper. The 1.4 stock springs are a bit soft. I switched to the 1.6 in front and 1.4 at the rear. All the shocks have 40wt oil in them. I also put a diff in the front.

The car handles nice at the Track and I was turning consistant 13 second laps with my 13.5 set-up. Do you have the Tekin Hotwire? I think the new software 1.89 is out and you can download it. Set it on sensored only and raise the boost up to 80 to start. I think you'll like the response. If you don't have a hotwire then try to go there when Dave Arnold is there on Saturday.

No Wolf does not sponsor me and unfortunately I won’t be at the birds this year.
