ditto on this, I think my brakes are set in the 70% range and I can hear them lock up and the end of the back stretch if I don't go easy.

I haven't been driving the 17.5 for long. Is it normal to have crappy breaking with that motor? I know rear wheel breaking sucks anyway (compared to a 4x4) but I can't get my wheels to lock down until almost at a stop.

I wish someone would figure out how to to run front disc brakes on a 1/10 scale truck! I've seen it done on the VMX dirt bike. basically just like your standard cable break.

You should be able to adjust it. Not sure what esc your running but check into it.

In my opinion, you could definitely lighten your truck a bit and still notice good times. Obviously the type of surface you are driving on makes a big difference on weights. But, on my local hard packed clay track (with a bit of dust on the top), this is a typical weight setup (and how I have mine setup currently):
1/4 oz. underneath the servo horn or somewhere on the front bumper
1/4 beside your receiver to counterbalance your heavier ESC
1/4 oz. in each rear triangle
2 oz. in the rear foam.

Also, I have 2/3 of the foam in the rear and 1/3 of the foam in the front. If you went with this setup, you would have a total of 3 oz. of weight, versus the 5 oz. you are currently running. Like I said, this is obvious just a recommendation, and nearly everyone on here has some different configuration. I am just saying that the setup I explained works great for my 2WD FT truck and seems to be a fairly common setup at my local track. Give it a try and see what you think... I bet you will be surprised how well it still handles

man i took your advise and my truck still handles great and it feels a lot lighter in the air and it still rotates very well and steers great too man so once again ty my friend:D

Good to hear! I'm glad that worked out well for you. That's what makes this hobby so much better then any other I've been part of.. mostly everyone is nice and always willing to help. I wouldn't have gotten anywhere if it wasn't for all of the experienced drivers on here who answered all of my MANY questions ;)

It's an MMP, pretty sure I had brake strength set to 100%, but will double check now that I know I have a problem.

I've the throttle endpoints at 100% both ways and there are no fancy traction control settings on my Tx. Also disabled all mixing

anyone use garodiscs for slipper pads?

I do, they work pretty well. Let you set a more precise setting and the slipper doesn't fade when temps get higher.

Losi springs

Got the Losi BB springs today and put them on before the racing started.. all I can say is WOW. Got the Red 22T fronts and Grey 22 rears. Ran 40F and 35R and the truck was a beast. Most likely going to get stiffer fronts, I think White is stiffer.

Without a doubt a must have upgrade, the smoothness of the shock is twice what the associated springs offer. Mine weren't bent or binding, I just did it on my B4.1 and figured I'd do the same on the SC10. I'm running the associated collars with the traxxas retainers and Losi bottoms.

Try it out

Its indoor, medium sized with plenty of traction. Not bumpy but wavy seems to be the correct description. If you can flow well then you win and these shocks soak up way more than the stock shocks.

You can see the track in that link...

Orange.

scoopdaloop 02-18-2012 08:48 PM

Well then I will have to try orange, truck could be a tap bit more responsive and it would be golden. Going to try some more rebound too.

In the FT Kit, are these rear grey springs the same as the silver springs #6478?
