Okay here's a speed secret none of you know: KY brand jelly. You won't find anything better. It takes the heat, resists moisture, lasts a long time, and best of all gives you the most pleasure.

I like this stuff: http://www.techtpaintball.com/Products.aspx?CAT=3318

I bought it a while ago for my paintball gun so i started using it on my rc as well.

It's a very thin grease, but stays in place pretty well.

Isn't KY petroleum based (I know Vaseline is)? Probably not too big a problem in the tranny, but oil based lubes can eat away at your o-rings.

It's water based.

You can use the 22 rears with the GEHA collars.

But then again, that's why I like this message board over all other SC10 one's. We go from talking about diff's to anal lube in a matter of just a few posts. I'd hate to see where we go from "anal lube" :)

is this also a topic about tranny's?

SC10 Issue

Thanks to those that replied re the dogbones issue. two 'o' Rings in the outdrive and two in the hub have fixed the problem. CVD's on order.

Its funny because I thought the dogbone was sitting way too far out for 2 'o' rings to fix the problem lol. (used to working on 1/8 buggies)

cheers.

Yea when I tried that I didn't have any spares, so I just did two on the out's and none in the hubs and it was only a problem on high-grip fast and sharp turns.

Anyone have this issue with the stock arms installed? I wonder if it's just that the RPM's are longer, which I guess would be a good thing.

Cain 02-17-2012 05:03 PM

nevermind, I think I see the problem.

Yes

I haven't been driving the 17.5 for long. Is it normal to have crappy breaking with that motor? I know rear wheel breaking sucks anyway (compared to a 4x4) but I can't get my wheels to lock down until almost at a stop.

I wish someone would figure out how to to run front disc brakes on a 1/10 scale truck! I've seen it done on the VMX dirt bike. basically just like your standard cable break.

Smoked an idler gear the other night, what the deuce!?!?! Happened right after my son broke the front end of his 10RS trying to clear the new front straight triple, which is more like a quad....... I was just doubling onto the deck and jumping into the turn, he had it in his mind to clear the whole thing. He saw the 8.5 buggies doing it and figured he could too.
