Whats the go with a standard starting point for slipper setting,

manual says 0.5mm of thread showing from nut, and racer53 guide says as per factory team specs 3.5 turns in from flush nut, what gives????

0.5mm as per manual seams to slip like crazy!

racer53 says he has v2 slipper so should it not be the same as the manual?

I've never really paid attention to the nuts relationship to the top shaft. I just go by how it feels when driving it. With a buggy you can set it to lift the front tires a bit off the ground when you tap the throttle and that's a pretty good starting place. With the SC10 you would need quite a bit of motor to do that. I would suggest going by feel when driving it.

I used to just use mine as a safety check for the transmission, but now I actually tune it to the track so that I can just about gun it full blast out of a 180 with out losing the back end. So I just walk it out to the toughest turn for me with the adjustment wrench and drive though that turn and adjust till it's perfect then tighten just a bit more to account for some extra slippage when hot.

I felt I got more acceleration that way than trying to feather the throttle with full power on tap.

I really like my red front grey rear stock spring set up. What would get me real close in the TLR conversion? Also, I assume you ONLY can use the 22T springs? Please advise. I already have the Traxxas parts. Thanks!!!

That's the original spring setup I'm trying to match and can't seem to do it with the Losi bb springs. The pink rears (2.3 rate) are close enough for the rears... But good luck matching those front reds. The closest thing to it would be the silver rears on the front.

try black fronts and yellow rears

LOSI123 03-15-2012 07:33 PM

does this fit the sc10 and is it any less brittle than the stock clear one

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...er-Black-B4-T4

also does the b4 rpm gear cover fit the sc10

njnewc 03-15-2012 08:18 PM

I am running white 22 rears and green 22t fronts. 30mm ride ht. and hazard rims. Truck is real good.

Yeah they fit. I dont think any are less brittle than the other. I have never broke a gear cover.

Is CA effective for gluing the servo saver on the SC10?

Thanks for any input!

HAHA....I have seen guys do this. I never stopped to ask if it worked or not. I would think it would lock it up.

CraigMBA 03-15-2012 08:54 PM

I have fixed two different racers cars at the track by CAing the servo saver up, saving their race day (no parts). Both times they have come back to beat me after I set TQ. So color me surprised when Avid started selling solid servo savers.

MMelchiori 03-15-2012 09:06 PM

Thanks Craig...my servo saver is weak and "activating" on right hand turns. I've read a good number of posts here and there and at least one magazine article regarding gluing the servo saver to prevent this but never a mention of what glue works best.

I will assume from your answer that CA will hold up at least for awhile until a better solution (Avid) can be substituted.

Best regards!

Hey, working on my SC10FT build and I have a question about the shocks. Once I screw the caps on the bottom (scene in pic below) it doesn't seem like there is a tight enough fit to keep the oil from leaking out. Am I missing something? There is the cap and the insert. Seems like there should be some sort of O-Ring.
