AE "standard" toe block as been 3 for years. Its just recently that the new blocks have been added with the addition of the FT sc10.

The standard anti-squat that most people run was 2 deg but thats using the large spacer.

Thanks for the verification.......i did some research and the only thing really different in the RTR is the 30 degree caster blocks and gold front springs.

Curious if anyone has used the 4 degree toe mounts along with a 1 degree hub for 5 degrees of toe in? Would it be overkill and rob too much speed?

ChrisAttebery 10-30-2010 10:44 PM

3 degrees toe, 2 degrees anti squat.

I tried the 4 degree block by itself anddidn't like it. I went backt to 3 with 1 degree hubs and like that much better.

Chris, ThunderbirdJunkie noticed his truck oversteered more with 0 degree hubs and 4 degree toe block than 1 degree hubs and 3 degree block. Fixed it with camber, but otherwise the setups were the same...any input?

ChrisAttebery 10-31-2010 09:04 AM

Yes, it seemed to over steer more and the back end was noticablely stiffer with the 4 degree block.

The 3+1 setup seems to be the favorite of everyone I talk to.

I disagree the STD toe block is 2.5deg originally i thought it was 2 deg.
So it looks like 2.5 was the std toe block used in the SC10 and the 3,3.5 and 4 deg blocks are the new additions.

Below is a std toe block on my micrometer and a new 2.5 toe block.

Good job. That explains why everyone was having traction issues.

So, I guess I'm running 2.5+1 on my truck.

I'm getting a FT SC10. Other than basic tools, What do i need? Shock Oil, Diff oil? Or does it come with this stuff.

A FT SC10 comes with a ball diff so no oil or fluid is required.

Shock oil is something you should have in different weights already unless
you are just getting started then 25,30,35,40 weight is good.

You can also get 32.5,37.5 weights in other manufactures besides AE.

I believe the kit comes with 30wt.

So you don't put fluid in a ball diff?

PIIHB! 10-31-2010 04:39 PM

No fluid just some ball diff grease

Good job trx450racer174 for getting to the bottom of the stock toe in. No wonder I was confused between it being 2 or 3 degrees. I should've taken the average of the two.:ha:

So now I know as well that I'm running 2.5 + 1.

I'm thinking of picking up a FT over the winter, so at least I'll be able to install the proper toe block.:)

trx450racer174 10-31-2010 09:58 PM

You can buy the toe block and anti-squat kit seperatly also.
