I'd try going to better front tires. You'll be able to turn down the steering throw and have better control overall. You can then soften up the rear end to get more rear traction too. I wound up with Red front springs and Green rears.

+1. Try some softer fronts.

I might do that... So another question is anyone putting more shims in the rear of the car? On the hubs? It comes with 2 people at my local track use 4 on the rear and some on the front.. Does anyone here do it or think it needs to be done?

Are you talking the bearing shims??? the thin ones between the wheel spacer and the outer hub bearing????

C_Money 11-02-2010 11:49 AM

Yea those ones

ChrisAttebery 11-02-2010 12:31 PM

Not that I've heard of. All that would do is take out a tiny bit of lateral slop between the bearings and the wheels.

C_Money 11-02-2010 01:04 PM

Ok cool it's probly good to have a little slop. Don't want it to tight.. Just some people at the track said to do kt

Don't do it on the rear, with the wheel is off they feel loose but when you put the wheel on and tighten down the nut it actually pulls the pin deeper into the wheel, which is a good thing. This is why they have crush tubes, you can crank down on the wheel nut and everything is still free...and tight.

I bought some of the 12mm hex adapters they work with the front and rear wheels of the SC10. There is a shim that fits over the front wheel bearings and slips into the hex. I want to eliminate this little plastic shim and the fix is the Slash front wheel bearings. However I can't find the stupid size... Does anyone know the size of the Slash front wheel bearing? I found the part number but I can't find a size. Thanks!!

Where did you get the hexes from? What wheels are you using to maintain the correct offset? I'm interested in switching my SC10 to a hex setup, and I haven't seen anything for the front wheels yet.

They are made by Driven Productions, I bought them at The Toyz website. They are sold out but I think you can get them here (scroll to the bottom of the page) http://drivenproductions.net/content/store.php

I believe the Proline Protrac will keep the stock offset. Not sure till I tinker with it.

I think that set up depends on the traxxas wheel to fit the bearing on the out side of the rim with their spacer. Not sure if I like that idea.

I will post some pictures of my set up later. It uses DE racing 17mm wheels and AKA adapters. Only adds about 20 grams total and I can rotate wheels front to back. Truck width is moved out about 1/8 of an inch front and rear but still drives the same. (from what I can tell. ;))

Will that hex kit allow the use of the team epic foams?

Yea it won't work with Proline front wheels I have, I just tested it. The rears work perfect, but the fronts require the actual Traxxas 2wd slash wheels. I only have a pair of Slash 4wd wheels. I only want to be able to swap the rears on 12mm at this point, so it's ok.

Might as well hold out for the 12mm kit that ProLine will be releasing.
