I think that set up depends on the traxxas wheel to fit the bearing on the out side of the rim with their spacer. Not sure if I like that idea.
I will post some pictures of my set up later. It uses DE racing 17mm wheels and AKA adapters. Only adds about 20 grams total and I can rotate wheels front to back. Truck width is moved out about 1/8 of an inch front and rear but still drives the same. (from what I can tell. ;)) |
Anybody got a good baseline indoor setup?
Going to be running Wishbones or Suburbs. |

If I ever change from the stock SC10 set-up I would go 17mm like you have. The track width looks good. I see that DE makes 17mm SCT wheels. Who else does? Proline? What about the SC8 wheels?

does anyone know if the offset of the new FT alloy rear hubs is the same as standard?? they are to suit b44, but i thought b44 hubs sit wider then sc10? has anyone tried or know the answer? reason i ask is im converting to hex and cant afford the track to be wider then it already is..

What about adding weight to the SC10. I know for my ese it made a big difference. I have 1.5 oz in the rear two pockets. Any idea if weight should be added to the front? if so how much.
Also for a slippey/ loose track shouldnt the slippery be loosened up to avoid over powering the track surface?? Has anyone tried M4 Calibers on the rear?? |
Re: Weight. I'm using 3 oz in front of the toe block. If you look at Kody Numedahl's setup sheet on AE site he added weight too. Also, if you're using anything other than a 5000mah battery you could add some weight to match what the pros are running. For instance, my Orion 3800 weighs about 2.5 oz less than the 5000s the pros are running.
Re: Slipper. YES! Re: Calibers. I've used the M3s, but not the M4s. |
What effect would I be getting changing the rear hub to 0.5?
Here's my situation. The track I race at is high bite clay which my truck was dialed last week. This week it was a lot more grip which made my truck to have tons of front traction and steering thus making my rear end loose at some sections. Without softning up the rear and not making changes to the front. Would adding 0.5 rear toe on the hub lock in the rear a little bit more? |
.5 hub has more traction compared to a 0...
slower rotation more stability note .5's may not carry corner speed compared to 0 on med traction surface |
