Thanks, imhave the .5 degree hubs so I'll try the 2.5blocks

I have 2* anti-squat, 3* toe block and 0* aluminum hubs, works great.

This setup, except Gray springs in the rear, 32.5 weight all around, 2 washers under the camber link in the rear and C hole on the A link tower.

Got a good offer on an SC10FT Brand new so I took it, can't wait, this will be my first RC Short Course Truck. Now I just need to sort out what electronics to put in her.

I'd like to set up another SC10 right now myself, for Mod 2WD. I know I'd stick a Tekin RS, Novak Ballistic Spec 10.5 and Savox 1258 in it, along with either a 92451 or 92744 Airtronics Rx.

I can't speak for the JC hubs, I used the Pro Line set although I wish I had seen the JC they look nicer. What I did do though was to pick up a pair of RPM rear hub carriers and B44 outer hub bearings. This is a great upgrade as the B44 outer bearings are much beefier. If you do use the RPM carriers you MUST use the B44 crush tubes part # 7933 or you won't be able to shim it properly and the stub axle or CVD axle will bind. It's a great upgrade for short $$$.

After driving my buggy for so long I discovered I really liked how my kids SC10 drives. I agree on the 1258, lots of grunt and plenty of speed. As always, I'm pretty happy with AE stuff.

Anybody have any experience with the Orion Experience 2 Pro sensorless ESC in an SC10? Just picked up a used one for my son's. We race on a decent size track in our back yard and I think I might be able to convince him to do some real racing too.

Angelo, If you come to Critter's on Wednesday, look me up. I may be getting out of 2wd. My Factory Team is setup with an RS, Redline 10.5 with the Savox 1258. I can't run 4 classes and I'm digging buggies right now..

For my first car the budget is a little lower than I would spend on a racer, but its enough to get some decent gear, will take into account all options. Haven't fully decided on what route to take with the motor and esc but will start laying out options and costs.

Problem for me is I have to take into account shipping, living at the ass end of the world I am looking at a min of $20 every time I want something shipped ($40+ for kits), my preference would be to get the motor, esc, servo, Radio gear, lipos and any other bits I need all from one outfit to save on shipping, so far HobbyPartz has the best price vs gear available for me at my budget.

Trying to look for other international shipping stores that have good prices and most importantly good shipping rates.

Savox are awesome servo's, they are all throughout my Gaui X5 Heli, will certainly consider one for the SC10, at least one for a future upgrade.

Unfortunately I can't come to Critter's on Weds because I don't get out of work until 5, and traffic going into Jersey during rush hour is probably ugly. Great choice in electronics, my friend! We'll talk more later.

Set up help

I need some set up help. First, is there a off road set up source that explains each change and what it does?

Next I am running on a hard packed surface with a fine silt build up. We run a spec tire, blitz stock tire, and the surface ends up being very slick. I run the following set up, except for all links at there shortest and 3.5 degree rear toe block and 1 degree hubs.

Any help is great
Thanks and God Bless

Afternoon guys,

Need some advise, being new to this aspect of the hobby I have had zero product experience with car electronics.

The Truck: I have a SC10 FT on the way
Parts I need to buy
Motor:
ESC:
Radio (Transmitter, receiver):
Servo:

Requirements:
Gear capable of getting me through my learning stages, and useable for club racing (10.5T & 13.5T)
Prefer Gear that will last and can be transferred to another model if I decide to get another SCT.
Budget is not limited but I’m made of money either, I’m an avid “you get what you pay for” buyer and I have no problems waiting the time needed to save for the “right” gear. On a flip side though, I am happy to go down the cheap route as long as the product is reliable.
Shipping is a major cost for me, so being able to get all of the above from one international seller is a bonus.

Cheers guys,
Jack

if you have a smart phone, down load the app from associated! its very helpful. as for set up, i recently raced on a surface just like that. the truck pushed and the back end would slide. run green springs in the rear and red in the front w/ 37.5 in the front and 35 in the rear. also take out that anti squat!

Thanks for the advice, I have noted the products. What are your reason for the choosing those over other options?

the Tekin RS is reliable. the Ballistic is versatile, in that you can swap stators and get different winds without having to buy another motor. the Savox has plenty of torque and speed.

cant speak for the airtronics, i run spektrum.
