Hey all,

Just got my Rockstar Ed. SC10 a few weeks ago and I LOVE it!

Question about the Reedy motor though, should it fail on me within 3 weeks??? Last week I had to put new brushes on it, and then when I was racing last Sunday, it just stopped working.

I would rather not go brushless yet, but I hope these stock motors last more than 2 weeks...

I've ran 2 races with mine and two practice sessions before switching mine out for a hotter motor and it showed no signs of wear. Maybe you've goit it overgeared. I left mine at the stick 16/87

Have you guys with fried RTR motors considered replacing them with E flite S600s?

And has anybody come out with a true-spinning SC10 1 piece wheel yet?
Tired of waiting on ProLine and never going to buy another JConcepts product again.
Have a set of Enduros and Wishbones to mount up!

Yeah I have kept mine at the stock 16/87. I want to stay in the spec class, so I may need to buy a brushless 17.5

No, which sucks because I hate gluing tires and wheels.

First Jconcepts products ThunderbirdJunkie ever purchased were two sets of Rulux wheels for his SC10.

They do not spin true, and are more expensive than stock AE SC10 wheels, which do spin true.

No thanks, Jconcepts can GTH.

oldpugva 06-03-2010 03:13 PM

Did the tires come pre-mounted on wheels or did you have to build them? I am looking for Proline for my SC10, but do not see them pre-built. I guess I should not be so lazy...

T-BirdJunkie 06-03-2010 03:22 PM

No, the wheels THEMSELVES don't spin true. Has nothing to do with the tires.

Bought the truck as a kit, glued the kit tires and wheels together, and together they have less runout than the Jconcepts wheels+Proline Switches, and the bare JC wheels have more runout than the kit supplied SC10 wheels. Truck shakes like hell at top speed with the JC wheels/PL tires but not with the kit wheels/tires.

Why not pick up the bead-locs? They seem pretty sturdy unless your truck is just way too bad. They're also very easy to build/rebuild.

T-BirdJunkie 06-03-2010 03:29 PM

May do just that...

Anybody besides PL to look at?

T-BirdJunkie 06-03-2010 03:48 PM

OK just said screw it, and bought the PL beadlocks.

Stupid LHS doesn't have them in stock, and they want 25 bucks each pair for 'em and 35 bucks for the body.

Any other Rockstar Ed. SC10's???

Just wondering if anyone else in this thread bought the RTR Rockstar Ed.?

I have had mine for about 3 weeks now and love how it handles compared to my old slash.

First upgrade was Bow Tie tires.

Next up is a RPM bumper that I just need to install.

Anyone know what my next upgrade should be???

Markah 06-03-2010 08:01 PM

I'd pick up a spare set of front A arms. I've snapped two already but perhaps I'm just being a little too hard on it.
