Hi there guys i have a tekno hot bodies kit here ready to start the build of my buggy, Im going to be running two hitec 7955 servos, one for steering and one for the brakes, I will be using the clutch bell system with a 17t clutch bell running max life ally shoes in reverse with mugen 0.8 springs, I have the castle 2200kv motor and matching esc ready to go...

I just purchased 3 x Intellect Lipo Battery (#IP-HW4S5400SP) which is 14.8 - 4s - 5400 - 35c hard case packs that are roar approved to run in the buggy they fit nicely in the battery tray and was wondering what kind of run times i will get with this set up ???

Also what diff oils would suit the brushless set up too ???

I run the hot bodies d8 & d8t in nitro versions so the rest of the set up im sure i will be ok with and already have plenty of spares thats for sure and i plan to set up a tekno d8t verion down the track.......

I use 5-5-2 in my D8 conversion which seems to work well at the tracks I go to. You will find that you may need to move up one spring rate for the heavier electric set-up.

I'm using a 4S 5100mah with a 1900 motor geared 48/17 and getting a good solid 18 minutes (15 minute Main and a few practice laps) and put put about 3000 mah. This is geared a little slow at around 32mph (51kph) for indoor tracks.

I have now been running my local track with the rc8 tekno kit. I love the manual brakes, i have one suggestion though, the motor mount needs to be more like the standard mounts it is very restricted to adjustments and I run to different motor set ups (a novak and a mamba)and it is kind of expensive to have to by another motor mount. Does anybody know if a more like the mount on the other conversions will work with this kit. I love the quality and set up of the kit other wise.

Well thanks for the reply im guessing that i should be able to get 15 minutes out of the set up using the 220kv instead of the 1900kv you are using and if the punch control is set right get close to 18- 20 minutes out of this packs

What colour springs are you running in the d8, i also have the extended rear shocks and tower to match

So much depends on driving style. We don't recommend running for more than 10 minutes at a time unless you are racing in a longer main or something. But for practice, run 10 minutes and pull it off. This will extend your investment in the batteries. Running them down to LVC repeatedly will kill them in no time. The batteries you picked up are solid, we've been testing the same setup in a Mugen and Losi lately. Dial in some punch and go easy on the throttle, you should see 15 minutes no problem.

Glad you like the mech brakes. A stock motor mount may work, but you won't be able to use mechanical brakes with a standard mount. My advice is to just buy the extra motor mount. It's less expensive than a direct to diff mount anyway and you already have the larger one right . Alternatively, choose a setup and stick with it. The Novak stuff is a little underpowered for 1/8th applications. They run good, but they generate a lot of heat which generally means they are working too hard.

I'm using the stock shocks (97mm) all around with grey springs in front and 50wt. oil, yellow 68mm in rear with 40wt. oil.

My shock towers are Tekno front and rear.

My buggy weighs in at 3.85Kg (8.5lb)

I just received my Jammin X2e body for my Tekno MBX6 and cut it up. The fit of that body on the Mugen is awesome. It's about a 95% fit. It fits much better than the 8E Slipstream body (~80-85% fit) that I have now. I highly recommend the X2e body for the MBX6. My only gripe about it is that it's not as thick as the proline body, but other than that it's awesome. Get yours from ImpaktRC, it's cheaper than Nitrohouse.

Got a Tekno kit coming for my OTHER MBX6 buggy

Going to try a Proline XB808 body on it.

I would be very interested in seeing some pictures of your X2e body once its painted and mounted if you have any ?

Don't have any pics yet (not painted nor mounted) but here are a few pics from the dirt nitro challenge race.

It all depends on if your brake servo is working in the proper direction already.

If you hook everything up and the servo is moving in the proper direction, than your good to go. Just adjust everything as needed.

If the servo is moving in the opposite direction that it needs to be moving in, than you would require a "Y" harness with reverse, to make the servo direction change.
