How are you guys mounting ESC's on the Tekno mount? Are you guys using screws? Foams? or just plain ol' double sided tape. I want to somehow add foam under my Xerun for some impact protection but I'm not quite sure how to mount it since the mounting holes don't really match up.

Very strong servo tape, double layer.

unsp0ken,
we use double sided tape to hold it to the tray and a large zip tie around it to hold it incase of heavy impact. if you would like pictures let me know i can take some.

I use the tekno mount with industrial Velcro then two thin zip ties through the heat sink and around the mount to keep it in place.

I use the screws that came with my RX8 and they have held up quite well. Make sure you take your measurements from the actual ESC and not the paperwork they send. I tried twice to follow the mounting instructions and I finally made an impression from some paper and pencil. Then I knew exactly where to put the holes. Now I have multiple holes and only four work.

I wouldn't touch that electri clutch w/ a 10 foot poll and not even 20 foot poll! It costed me a throttle servo and servo mount. Looks like they didn't do enough R&D to see that they need lots of shims and an extra grub screw to anchor down the entire assembly! Buyer beware! Make sure you use extra shims to remove all that slop and you must mount the entire assembly w/ 2 grub screws! Go direct drive period

Kinda hard to see, it's packed, but it fits. 8.5 lbs with a 6000 4s pack.

Also, curious on gearing. I am assembling this losi 8b 2.0 kit with a MMM/2200KV combo and have 4S 25C 5000mah lipos on the way. I am using the stock 13/48 gearing as recommended, but I am way off on spacing. I need the clutchbell to go back about 3mm and then still 3mm off getting the gear mesh set. I also tried to use the standard mod1 gear but could not get the motor to mount in the front holes. Sorry for the fuzzy pics (phone camera).

Pic1: The motor is mounted in the rear holes and clutchbell is pressed against the center diff. The teeth barely touch.

Pic2: Using the front holes on the chassis, the rear inside hole has a screw in it and the motor is hitting the center diff.

I must be missing something, but me and a buddy of mine here can't seem to figure out how to get this kit together.

Can you elaborate on this a bit for us? What happened to the servo, etc? I've been running the clutch for over 3 months now with very positive results. I actually prefer it to the direct drive setup.

Thanks

This is kind of odd. Also, only 1 post???

Anyways, if you don't adjust the endpoints on the brake servo properly, it will always be pulling. Similar to a nitro, if you don't have the end points correct, you can bust servo mounts and bend linkages. As for slop, ??? All clutches have to be shimmed properly, nitro or electric.
