There will be very slight differences manufacturers shoes, but a little play like you have is pretty normal with those light springs. If you feel uncomfortable about it, you can always tighten up the loose springs by hand.

If I'm gonna use a Hitec 7955 on my Tekno conversion, one way would be to use a Reverse Y Harness. If not, can I buy a Hitec HFP-20 programmer to change the rotation of the servo so I won't need to use the harness?

On my MBX-6, I set up my linkage to push to apply brakes instead of pulling... No reverse programmer or reverse y-harness needed. Just a standard harness works fine. I'm not sure what buggy this will be used on but it might be worth checking if you can make it work this way.

The chassis are vehicle specific, so the MBX6 isn't compatible with the MBX5. The front and rear diff mounts are different. You could try drilling new holes however. That might work, but we haven't seen it done yet.

You could get a programmer to reverse rotation. But like unsp0ken said, you may not need either. Some cars can push OR pull the brakes. Mugen, Jammin, Associated (if you file the stops on the diff plate) can all push or pull, so you don't need anything except a simple Y harness. Just make sure you aren't engaging the brakes on throttle and you should be good to go. Losi, HB, and Kyosho only work one way and may require a reversing Y harness.

How about an esc mount that makes it so you no longer need to use fans, can seal up your car tight, and takes all the blows that your wrecks and big hits can deliver?

If your not using clutch springs then why wouldn't you just use a hard pinon w/ mechanical brakes?

You lose the freewheeling disconnect from the motor with a direct drive. Even a free motor produces drag on the drivetrain. Using a clutch has its pluses and minuses.

Sean, are you going to be at JBRL? The opener is two days and we're running buggy and truggy. Get Joel and the others and get out there! It's on your home turf, Thunder Alley
