I have an issue with my dex410. It started its life as 410r kit I boight. I've replaced nearly everything to the V4 specs including tons of exotek and dingo hop ups. I love the car but my current issue is with the steering set up. I just cannot get the steering to stay consistent. It seems like I adjust the toe angle and get everything set and then the buggy pulls hard left or right. I noticed today that the steering when disengaged from the servo felt tight. I loosend the screws above the steering bearings on either side and it helped the binding but my servo is still having an issue bringing it to center once turned in a direction. For instance if I turn hard left and then let go of the wheel it aligns it cose but not exactly center and is enough for the car to drift off course. I am using the v4 19 degree blocks up front. The only other mod is the aluminum servo saver. Any advice or help here would be appreciated. I love the car when it's on but I'm at my whits end here and need a solution.

I recently built my DEX410V4 the build quality was excellent and the hop ups in the kit were awesome! I had a chance to race it this past weekend and I was very impressed with the performance. Very technical indoor clay track and the car was fast in stock form. I was also able to do some testing last night at another track, I made some shock oil changes and added a lil more spring. I end result was ballistic I am very confident that this car can and will run at the front of the pack no problem! Im happy to continue with Team Durango for 2015 hopefully they continue delivering cars of this caliper for us to enjoy!

If I'm not mistaken Jorn TQ'ed the worlds with this car on dirt, he's won a ton on carpet, this car is ballistic, no ifs, ands or buts. Anyone who can't win with the car, its not the car thats the issue :P
What shims are they, as I have the same problem, as I cannot tighten it too tight, or it binds as well. I also noticed that this car levels itself in the air off jumps, really nice!

Me too! Shims are where they need to be but binds quite easily when tightening in a couple of places.
Just bought the molded shock towers, anyone know how long these have been around. Am having some trouble with the top shock pivots being too short for the extra thickness , am using small bore shocks.

Of all my vehicles this is by far the most responsive. Since I went to the 2 hole pistons and replaced a faulty servo, this thing really tracks well. I am slowly going faster and just upgraded the power to 8.5 with an RS esc. May find out tomorrow if it works out.
Yikes. Tried the 17 degree hubs with SS fronts and rears. She was a hand full! Didn't realirealize how much the clay fronts really calm her down. 19 blocks for sure!

I love my DEX410. It really is an amazing car. I love my 210 too. My last outing at SCVRC I was able to get into the 15 second lap times (avg) and I think my fastest lap is 14.9 so far. This seems pretty fast as the only other car going faster was an 1/8th scale and only slightly avg upper 14s. I believe the track record is 13.7 or so. I would never have been able to do it without the forums! Thanks all
I also wanted to say I'm really loving my HobbyWing V3.1 in both of my Durangos. I've mounted the 410 ESC with thermal adhesive tape, usually used for heatsinks so that the heat from the ESC could be transferred to the chassis and transferred away from the ESC. This essentially makes the chassis a large extended heatsink. I ran several long practice sessions with a 6.5T HW V10 motor, which I also highly recommend. The ESC never got over 120 and my motor was around 130 even after 15+ min sessions. I don't have any boost and only a small amount of turbo (10*) for extra top end. Geared 20/87 for the smaller indoor track. Using the program box after your run you are able to see max temperature during the run which is sometimes a little different than your after run temp. It's a nice feature.

Turns out I had the caster blocks on the wrong sides which caused the pins to angle forward instead of backwards and slopped up my steering as well added nearly uncontrollable bump steering. Put them on the right way and the car just sings now. No more late night car building.

Just put on the alloy servo brace, problem solved. My problem was the top front chasis brace was pushing on the steering posts when I tightened it.
I found out what happens when the shock screw comes loose, I will be replacing a front arm after that one. That ended my night of racing the Dex410. I went to a 8.5 motor from a 10.5, and it handled worse. I actually liked the 10.5 geared taller, as it was much smoother. The 8.5 tended to get sideways on me more often, whereas the 10.5 was sticking very well, and more controllable.
