Cogging could be the sensor wire or the sensor board in the motor. The gt series will run most motors sensorless with no problems if the wire pops off or something. You just lose the boost and turbo timing. with a 7.5 i have had races where the sensor wire popped off or broke and i hardly noticed. Actually, with no boost it probably helped more than hurt.
Any suggestions on a starting pinion for the V3 6.5? I noticed you were running 23/78 - 7.5 on a b44.

Yeah. I was. I have since tried some different gearings and teammates and i found that temps go way down with smaller pinions/larger spurs and added boost and timing. So i used to get tenps around 160 on the motor especially outdoor on a huge track. I changed to 19/84 and added boost turbo. The buggy was easily as fast with not much added and easily uncontrollable if i went way up in the settings. And temps dropped by 30 degrees on the motor and the esc is coming off under 100 too.

For a 6.5 i would suggest roughly the same 19/84 or equivalent ratio and change settings a little at a time. to see where you like it.

Great, that's where I'm going to start at. If this doesn't give me the snap I'm looking for I'm not sure what will...

Kyle, I followed this to a T pretty much for Omaha. I backed off the boost and turbo 2 degrees and dropped 1 pinion tooth also. It turned my 7.5 from a so so turd, to a raped ape. lol. and temps stayed about 160 or so.

For Real RC I droped 4 pinion teeth and turned the Turbo down cause there isn't anywhere to "turbo" there. lol

Oops that's a little big... Anyway, this is for a 7.5, it should be close for a 6.5. Maybe knock another tooth off the pinion.

Yeah Mayor, I used that basic setup on my 8.5 I started with on Saturday night, but that LRP just never seemed to have anything. Switched out to an old Orion 7.5 with some boost (no turbo), but it still didn't come to life so to speak.

I've got a 6.5 on the way as I'd rather have to tone it down then struggle to get power when I want it. The way the Orion is cogging at very low speeds leads me to believe that the sensor board may be bad in the motor as I didn't notice the LRP doing that.

No. 5.5 limit and 540 can. The lpf is best suited for 2wd and 7.5 and up for 4wd buggy. It can do a 5.5 motor but I hate to "test the limits" of my equipment just to lose a race because it failed at the wrong time.

Ha! That's what SHE said.

For cooler temps (if you want them) you can turn that last setting up. 400 or 500 will get the temps way down. You can probably add a little timing back in or put that one tooth bigger pinion back on and with the last setting higher still get lower temps. Glad that setup helped guide you to the "raped ape" feel. LOL

Thanks just was curious as I can't get the gt 2.0 pro anywhere. And I've heard shortage is due to a new model being released. I want to run sp just can't find them anywhere and I've been told silver arrow 2.0 won't work on 2s either

sorry missed this post:

Firmware Unsure(but it is the stock one) my programming card doesn't tell me
Car is LOSI XXX-SCT I had it geared between 22-26T/78
Settings:
Running Mode: 1(FWD/BRK)
Drag Brake Force:1(0%)
LVC: 6(3.4vper cell)
Start Mode: 7
Brake Force: 3(75%)
Reverse Force:1(25%)
Initial Brake Force:2(0)...is this why i have no brakes?
Neutral Range: 1(6%)
DMTS Timing: 8(26.25)
Over Heat Protection: Enabled

I re-programmed with my radio @100% it does max out @140% should I program it with it there?

Motor would get hot...and was running poorly

Well, it looks like you have either 205mod or 528mod on the ESC. It won't give you the speed you want with that firmware. I suggest either getting the "pro" programming box to flash the 323stock firmware on it or if possible find someone who has one and can do it for you. It's easy to do. The box is about $30-$35. Once that version is loaded you can gear down and crank the boost and timing per one of the setups on the SP website.
Set the ESC with the radio at 100%.
Set the brakes at 100% as well and turn the epa down if they're too strong. That should help with braking no matter what the firmware.
