Thought I read at one time that head shimming can make your pipe overheat but not shure that's why I mentioned it.Pipe in question is a fairly new RB 9886 w/ jammin header. Overheated with 97t plug also. Think it all started there at the end when the rod maybe got sloppy. Its in good hands now.

your engine was shimmed at .70mm which is factory and works fine for 25% - 30% , it probably has to do with engine/pipe combo

u mean putting the pipes in hot anti freeze?... live in 22nd floor condo... not gonna fly with me or the neighbours.. lol.. any other methods?

LOL , that might be a lil stinky fershur

berrymans parts cleaner works fairly well , get a bottle brush and simple green and a lil elbow grease

cold weather break in tips? is it ok to do a break in at 40 degrees

keep the head covered !!!

i dont recommend breaking an engine in at 40° but if you must , make sure to keep the heat in the engine 190-210° at all times before it is running to preheat and during the times at which it is running

Thanks for the help, it is going to get up to 46 or 50 today. I want to do it now because its only going to get colder this month.

Monty..

2 green carbon shoes
2gold aluminum shoes good setup?

planning on running both flywheels on my truggy at motorama just to try out which one feels better and for run times also... maybe running the plus 4 at that event.. not enough time on the FMS to try it there on an indoor track in the dead of winter.. i'll only be running truggy and maybe pull out the revo at this event
