Mugen MTX-4

Thanks....I'M OFFICALLY CRAZY!!!
Thats funny....I remember when running pan car, an engine that reached up to 340deg one time, lost the line back to the fuel tank and it leaned out. It was crazy hot! the carbon fibre didn't have any issues, that was ran it for another 5 months before it broke the T plate and shredded the chassis as it went though the wall at Rock Hill. I would say that the carbon should take the heat without a problem.

It shouldn't be a problem. Carbon fiber is used in many motorsports' applications (exhausts, manifolds, engine parts, etc.) to dissipate heat quicker while not sacrificing strength. Nice work, rcfoolz. How thick is the chassis?

I kept the chassis at 3mm. The 4mm chassis is too thick for the other componets and it is the same thickness as the stock one. I wasn't aware of the carbon fiber disapating heat, so I just did an experiment using a blow torche a chunk of aluminum and a my exergen temp gun. GUESS WHAT!!!
The aluminum that was on the carbon fiber cooled from 380-200 faster than on the aluminum one 3 seconds faster in the 3 times I did it. So the heat issue won't be a problem. Now, I have this one on Ebay for sale, and I just cut another one for my car. Don't know if I will run it, but I will have fun when people look at it. Also, I have addressed the issue of the exaust side chassis brace. The only proplem is that if you are running an engine that has bolt heads sticking out of the back of the engine, like the mugen engine -vs- a normal novarossi engine, the brace won't work. I have to test this before I show my design, I have already been copied for my work on the TC3, and several tools that I came up with.

I will be interested to see how well that chassis works. I will reserve comment.
Steven. I will have my 4 at the T4T race. I raced it once at Revelation and did a half day test session on my home track yesterday. I have been told that the setup for Crystal and Vegas is basically the same so I shold be pretty close now. I may go back out there tomorrow to try a few other things.

I cut 2 of these, added weight till it snapped and did the same to the other stock chassis that warped till it bent. This one took 20% more weight till it snapped -v- bent the aluminum. Now my car is WAY under and still have not put titanium hinge pins in.
After I am done with my club track car, my goal is to have the car at 1600 grams race ready.
Why.......I don't know...because I can.
my friends say I have way too much time on my hands
Somebody needs to give me a job.
