Are you talking about the ultra sportsman or the V3 competition? I've used and enjoy both. Ultra sportsman are $30, not $26, and the V3 competition are $38 on the SP website. The ultra sportsman is the one I abuse. I put gearing to it that makes my truck fast and don't worry about it.

Has there been a resolution or acknowledgement of the cogging issue with the RP 1.1. I'm having the same issue but it is only when I first set the car down or let the car sit idle for a period of time. Mine also seems to be running a bit on the hot side (155). It's in a b44.2 with a 7.5. Have tried different gearing, different servos, different motors, sensor wires. Have tried different 30mm fans to try and help the heat up issue also. Nothing helped more than a degree or 2 and nothing changed the cogging.

V3.0 Comp is a great motor. I have the 8.5 and really liked it in a variety of vehicles.
When it comes to mod, heck, if the other guys motor is more powerful, I just grab a hotter one of mine or if it can take it, play with timing / boost.
if anyone needs a 17.5 MMM motor drop me a pm.

I just noticed there does not seem to be an 8.5 in MMM. weird. Anyway, a few more grams in mod wont mater. I think I am going to try out the SP 8.5 in buggy, its cheap and if I dont like it, I dont loose out much.

If you look at pictures of many of our top and pro drivers they run both the MMM and V3.0 depending on the wind and track

Is there a KV chart for these motors? I can't find anything. I am going to be picking up a V3 7.5 or 8.5, and I was wondering what range KV these were to know where to start my gearing.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Comparing KV and C is difficult across the various brands. That is why gearing on a D3.5 17.5 and a MMM 17.5 are not always identical to achieve optimum performance.

OK. In that case, I am running a HPI Blitz SCT on a high bite track. Very smooth track, 3 long straightaways. You need to gear more for higher speeds than for all-around torque. What is a good starting spot? I am at the sweet spot right now with my 13.5T RevTech (4000kv) at that is geared 88/22. I will likely run the 8.5T V3. Thanks for any and all input!
