I Put a sensorless toro 4600kv 550 in with same pinion and it doesnt break a sweat...and rips! but I want a sensored motor. ( i put hw sc8 in too) Does viper make anything? Suppose I could try a pro4 HD 550 size instead.

The viper vst l/xl look way too long to me from the specs.
I run the Pro4 4000 in my 6.25 lb SCTE and it kicks butt. If you are at 260 after 10 minutes you've got something wrong with the car. I know you said the toro worked fine but something doesn't seem right.

Agreed, if the motor was that hot, it probably has failed or is in the process of going to fail.

Our VF4 poles motors are in line to be produced at the factory, don't have an exact delivery date yet. The XL motor would be too long, the L would be close depending on how you mount your esc. The new VF4 is much smaller and would fit with no issues.

As Nick said, the new VF series motors are in the line to be produced at the factory. If you have a motor to hold you over, make due until ours is ready.

Default 5150 stopped during a race!

Half way through the first qualifier my copperhead R/ 5150 combo shut off. The second qualifier it was fine. In the main about 3/4 through the race it stopped. I had steering but no motor. About 30 seconds later the motor came back on and I finished the race. I am running a Losi SCTE 2.0 geared 13/40 with 70c 6000mah batteries. The motor temps at 145 and the esc temps at 125. After the first time I switched to profile two. Any suggestions?

Thanks, and sorry hadn't realized the VF was the new 8th motor, and therefore that the question had just been answered!

spider - hope to know more this week about the timeline. Plus we have to see what the ROAR "rules" say about motors being 'legal'. The race is only weeks away, so we wouldn't have time to submit anything.

RapidRC- sounds like it hit LVC - look at common things that happen in those two runs like crashes, battery used, etc..... If it happens more consistent look at things like trying to lower either Punch or Motor Timing slightly. If you used a different battery in the run you didn't have an issue you might have a weak cell in the battery.

VF4 versions will be 4000kv and 4500kv.

Jim,
Are you using the stock screws with the sensor wire keeper?

Yes. I used a countersink for wood working. I know you are including the screws for the 1:10 motors so no countersinking is required. On the 1:8 motors it uses a s/t screw so the machine thread screw will not work.

Could rapidRC's issue be a cutoff temp too low too? I'm not sure if the system will reinitialize after the motor has had a bit of time to cool down either.

Also, how do you ensure you have the dynamic braking disabled? There's no on/off switch in the progauge for that.
