This thread is full of peoples opinions, along with people trying to argue their point. Nothing wrong with that BUT lets leave out the snide comments about members.

Wheel , if you gain anything from this , you learned how the springs work, & why ......

The good finish happens when you cross the line in 1st place ....

Okay, that's just nonsense.

Were you unconscious, or mistaken, or were you lying when you trolled it up by spreading bad tech in the XraySCT thread a couple of days ago?

well that was interesting....haha

ok all jokes aside, few questions. so a week ago the chitown shootout was held at my local track, AE had sent Chad Due and a few other drivers. Is there anyway to get Chad's set up because his car seemed to drive pretty good on our layout.

Next question, scold me if I have asked before but I don't recall, can someone give me a good education on shock limiters. I understand the function of them, limiting down travel. I currently run 5 in my front and 2 in my rear. The reason I ask is I want to try new setups, my car is driveable, majority of the time steering is good but a tad bit on the pushier side, and the rear hooks most but a little looe, i use barcode v1 when the track is wet(hooks up great) and I use suburbs when the tracks dry(best traction i ever get) but when the track is in the midle of both, its driveable, and competes, but sometimes i spend more time focusing on keeping the back end planted.

Back to limiters, I understand they limit downtravel, but what I want to try to understand is, what more or less has what effect, if you could give examples that'd be great. Like I said, I just want to change my setup, should i? probably not because it works for the most part, and for some reason, I just don't like how it feels so thats why I want to tinker. If I need to post up my entire setup for tips on anything let me know I am more than happy to

jirish617, Chad posts on this board. The easiest way to find him is probably in the Trackside thread in the Wisconsin & Ill. racing section.

I win the idiot of the month award. Was rebuilding my car over the last couple days and finished everything but the shocks up Tues night. Sat down last night to finish the shocks and went to grab the small container holding my std springs, collars and spring cups.... missing....... I threw them in the dumpster

So it looks as though I'll have another weekend of BB springs after all

Just happy that it wasn't anything too expensive I threw in the trash!

No internal limiters = good for jumps , landings & bumps

With ? = good for forward traction , corner speed.....

I can't confirm if Losi 56 pistons are = to AE but I can tell you that the number refers to the size of the drill bit that is used to make the hole. AE number 2 is a 56. so I believe it's 1 55, 2 56, 3 57 but I always get 1 and 3 backwards LOL. That's what I get for running 2's everywhere (and why I keep a manual in my pit box :P)

as far as limiters... they affect your weight transfer alot. I am a bit rusty on the details for that too, but I know that you definitely want to look at that aspect of it as well. If you can't find anything, shoot me a PM so I remember to get the info for you tonight. I know I have it saved somewhere at home

#54= AE#1
#55= AE#2
#56= AE#3

AE pistons are two hole
Losi pistons are three hole

An AE #2 cannot directly compare to a Losi #55 because of hole quantity (and piston OD).

Drilled holes are smaller than molded holes (holes in kit pistons are molded). A #56 drill bit wobbles slightly in a Losi/AE molded piston. The same bit will fit tight with no wobble in a drilled hole. The feel difference between a drilled piston and a molded piston is similar to half weight oils (2 hole pistons).
