With running 17.5 Blinky I have taken all the weight out of the car. I want to set it up as light as possible. Power to weight ratio is the key for me. If I can get the thing to turn and hook up with springs, shock oil, diff settings, etc... than it should be good to go. I think it is crazy adding a ton of weight to an under powered vehicle. Just my two cents...

now you now know why ...
Doesnt a progressive spring have dual rates of compression and this would be stated by the mfg if they where? Going from a softer spring rate to there higher rate of compression as its compressed? For me I nvr bothered to try them because I always was under the assumption that they where both linear spring rates and that there shouldnt be any difference between the two.

Given all the above though. I am going to go ahead and try them myself.

Learned most about this topic by testing with my teammates @Trcr..

I will be honest , never really looked at those charts ..

We just put um on and check how fast we go with the
track computer ...

Usually 4 or 5 us testing , sometimes late into the night .....

If your going to Losi shocks I can make you collars so you can use your AE equipment. Check them out... $20 shipped to your door, you will get 8 collars 4 tops, 4 bottoms...

Ae ballast weight on rear arm mount by transmission, can go more , as much as 21 g for max steering.
Does this work for mod class 8mm chassis too?

yes , stock or mod will perform great...

If your track is dusty or less traction, try a little less weight by the transmission...
Pushing ?

use 21 grams

I run this pretty much exact except for the weight in the front triangles,I'm running a shorty lipo and once I added the weight in front of the servo my buggy became money,I will try out the rear whites and orange fronts to go with my yellow/red combo

Geo my biggest problem with the BB was that ultimately we are all on different springs. I can't get KY springs around here and not sure I would spend the money for them anyway. So I'm forced to use the Losi. I can throw orange / yellow combo on and feel safe no matter where I go but I will constantly second guess myself thinking oh I can go a lil quicker with silver or white.

I end up over thinking the spring choice. When the AE stuff is finally out, that should resolve the problem and I'll go back to them.

The other BB springs we have been using are more progressive and their rate goes up as the spring is compressed .
Where did you get that the BB springs are progressive?

I've never heard of anyone ever saying that, and I have measured active coil height spacing and they do not change (indicating that they are linear). During operation non of the BB coils coil bind either.

The rear could be bottoming out on the face of the jump causing the back end to kick up. Try raising the rear a little

If a manufacturers springs were progressive wouldn't they advertise them as such....? They could be hand wound by little green men contracted from Mars for all I care as long as they work.
