I had accounted for that. I run 22/76 on the 22 which gives me an 8.39:1 FDR and the 23/75 in the B4.1 would give me an 8.47:1 FDR. The transmission IDR basically equates to 1t on the spur (2.6 vice 2.43 on the 22). I'm certainly not opposed to giving the 81 a shot (which would bump it up to about 9.15:1 with the same 23t pinion), was just curious if there was a specific reason the 81 seemed to be the popular choice due to motor placement. I typically try to keep the motor forward to decrease polar moment but some vehicles actually like the weight further back.
I just posted this in the FS forum, we are doing a fund raiser to help get some additional trucks/buggies up and running for our Cars-4-Kids Program.

Screw kits for the B4 and T4 and I think almost enough for the SC10. $15 ea. or 2 for $28 shipped. It is a fund raiser and all money will go directly to the program.
Thanks
Vince

I am using 26/75 with my 8.5. I can pull buggies that have 7.5's in them and it doesn't run out before the end of the straight. Temps are more than fine. I will eventually try the 81 tooth spur but I like where I am at right now.
The Reedy Sonic I'm running doesnt seem to have near as much torque as I'm use to feeling in other 8.5s. I had to gear down 2t on the pinion from my Tekin 7.5 to get any bottom end out of it (was having a harder time with short run up jumps than the 17.5s
).

Yea I have an 8.5 as well and it doesn't seem to have a bunch of bottom, I ran a dualsky 7.5T on my 22 24/76 and that thing pulls hard and never temps over 150! I am gonna start my buggy off stock and then eventually switch to mod..I may run the 8.5 in favor of the softer bottom..
I am ruuning 24/78 and it feels slow. Boosted 13.5's are running right along with me. I see Cav runs 21/78 with 7.5's so maybe 22-23/78? I have the Orion VST 8.5 with Orion R10 Pro. Any suggestions?

You guys need to take into consideration why they are running a 78 or 75 or 81 spur. It's not to achieve a gear ratio. It's to adjust the weight bias and make the car handle differently.
I tried 75, 78 and 81. Always went back to 81. It's a prefrence thing. Here's what you need to remember though. If you like the way the car handles with a 75 and want to run the same gearing I run with 81, you have to LOWER your pinion by 2 teeth. 3 teeth on the spur = 1 tooth on pinion. So the difference between 75 and 81 = 6 teeth, or 2 teeth on the pinion.
I ran an LRP X12 8.5T geared at 23/81. So if I wanted to switch to the 78 spur, I would be running 22/78.
Hope this helps!

Hi. I am new to the hobby and been researching and looking at the Factory Team Pro's setup sheets and they have limiters. I tried searching and googling if there is part for this and or how do you set/install the limiters? Also if the setup sheet is saying 1mm. Does that mean 1mm off the gound or? Thanks in advance and sorry for the newbie question.
