Same thing. No USB selection in the drop down. Only COM1 and COM3.
I would say to un-install your update software and re-install the software from the Viper website ( http://viper-rc.com/viper_pclink.zip )

If that doesn't work, try a different USB cable

You should get a light on the PC Link even if you do not have the Viper software open

I will try the reinstall. I only have the one link cable so I can't try another. It does flash red when plugged in.

Ok, connect the PC-Link to your PC, and let it power up

Then open the Viper Software. You should be able to see USB under the port list, even without being connected to a ESC

Jamie, when you plug the Viper PC Link into the computer do you see the red light come on? I am not in front of my computer, but I remember there being a red light showing the USB connection is "live".

Nope. Still only seeing COM1 and COM3. I'm really starting to get frustrated.

Maybe go into control panel, open device manager, and see if you have any errors in your USB devices. If so, try deleting and updating the driver.

I dunno, on mine as soon as I plug in the Pc-Link I get a "USB0" under the ports.

Pardon my ignorance...
In theory, given the same battery and gearing (2s, in this case) a lower KV motor would net a smoother throttle response and more top end vs a higher KV which would net a better bottom, with limited top end, perhaps even a shorter powerband... But the higher KV motor would likely generate more heat. < Is this thinking correct?

I have a friend who is looking for a new system and might be interested in the CopperHead, Thx to the great price point.

I run the R45 and has pushed my SCTE easily. Nothing wrong with the R51 either, it's really fast.

I currently run a Noval 550 4.5t. What is most comparable to that. I am a racer not a basher.

R51 would be a good choice then. You run on bigger track?

i ran the R45 this weekend and i was able to gear that thing up to 17T and it was very fast. 16T would probably be more safe as i was running outdoors in about 60 degree ambients.

A small indoor track during the winter and a big 1/8 scale track in the summer.
