Hey lads...
I run the 3PK and am wanting ton know how the module will go about mounting in there ? There is a plastis cover that clips on over the factory module and from the pictures i have seen it looks as though with the spektrum module you will not longer be able to use the plastic cover due to the antenna. Call me picky but i like things to pretty as much as they are functional. |

true... if your local hobby shop is a Horizon dealer, i think they have to sell at the Horizon listed price. i dont think they are able to go up or discount it...
|
I can't belive someone actually bought it for $300.
|
I got two of them I need to post on there then! LOL

The ko's seem to be hit or miss as well. A guy at the track had a new one and in the middle of the day it crapped out on him. I am on my second m8 reciever and played with it every day for a week before racing with it on sunday and no problems......... Got to the track , turned it on and it went full right turn and 95% brake.:flaming: I went through the binding process again , and it ran perfect all day...... so good i tq'd and won 19 turn touring with it. Question is what happened to cause it to need to be put through the binding process again ?????? We will see how it is next week.

Did you remove the module? I wonder if that may have something to do with it? Just guessing here.
I did finally get to the track yesterday and ran it. Flawless so far. Took a few runs to get used to not having an antenna on the radio. I couldn't figure out what was different when I went up for my first run. |
i dunnot bout the module removal. i switched mine out to run my Mini, and popped the Spek back in after with no drama.
the no- antenna thing didnt bother me too bad, but Craig had to put his up anyway... said it was weirding him out! |
I saw it happen again at the local rug this weekend.
It appears to be a BEC issue in this one. He was running: Air 257 servo LRP Q1 The light on his PT would go dim and the Spekrum Rx would go into failsafe. It would shutdown for about a SEC or so, then come back on. He replaced the system with old stardard Tx/Rx and no issues. He was able to reproduce it on the bench also. We did not try the CAP fix, but that is next as a test. On a side note: he runs the exact system(Tx/Rx/servo) in his gas cars with no issues. |
I don't know if they've said for sure what the issue actually is but I'd be willing to bet it's got something to do with the static electricity generated on carpet. I haven't read this whole thread but the only probelms I've heard about have been indoor carpet tracks. Not once have I heard about someone having trouble on asphalt. I could be wrong though.

it also seems like a lot of them are Quantum users, as well. i used mine with a KO VFS-1, and Craig's was with a Keyence.
|
Haven't noticed that. I run Keyance as well.
|
I run the keyence pro rapida and also on asphault. No problems all day long except the initial turn on. I have the cap on it just to give it all i can and avoid any further problems. What gets me is i had a battery in the car and turned it on and off every day like three or four times a day moved the steering hit the throttle , it worked perfect all week ........... Turn it on at the track , wich is outside on asphault and i had to re bind it. Hopefully it was a fluke and doesnt happen again , but after getting a bad one to start off with , i am still skeptical with the second one...
