2450 2750kv oversize motor aimed for 4x4 like the LOSI, it is hugh. And use standard solder tabs.

I actually using it on my SERPENT 960 running 6 cells...but I don't have a big enough parking lot to actually use up the motor.

are these 1/8 motors? I guess I am just not used to such High Kvs on 4S nowadays. Usually in the 1800kv - 2200Kv range, max.

How are the can width dimensions in comparison to a Tekin 1/8 motor?

Yes they are for 4 cells.....but I have used it from 2S to 6S. Very similar in size compare to the TEKIN 1/8th motor or the Novak size.

I don't recommend 5.5T for 4wd buggy or boost. I wouldn't do anything lower than 7.5T for 4wd.
So you guys go flip a coin or something and let me know? LOL

Thanks
You can use it....if you are not running BOOST software, you can use the 205g and run as high as 5.5T on your 4WD. I think you should use 6.5 only...mainly ppl are running 205g with 7.5T.

If you use boost...try run it with 7.5 or 8.5T motor. It will not run anything faster then 6.5 with boost. Also, must run fan.

Both PRO and LPF comes with fans. The board looks the same but the parts inside are different...LFP are 1/2 the power of the PRO.

Are there any plans to make a motor in the future with a lower KV in the 1800 - 2200 Kv range?

Possible, but not now.....

1/8th off road just not hitting the market like what everyone expecting...but the market of bashing or drag racing is actually showing the need of fast motor.

I have a 2.1ex that was in my old touring car and a 2.0lpf that was in my f104. Since i dont race onroad anymore i was trying to figure out what else i could use them for. I like how smooth they are and easy to program with the LCD card but the documentation online can be a bit confusing with all the different software and versions.

Default Gearing Help

I'm looking for gearing suggestions:
Car: AE SC10 4x4
ESC: 2.0 Pro (with the old software)
Batt: Speedzone 5300mAh 50C saddles

I started with a Tekin 5.5 geared 15/62 (32 pitch), but it was slow as a dog.

Put in a Tekin Pro4 4600kV in there, and it's running hot. I started at 13/62 and temped 160* in about 4 min.

Tried 11/62 and made 8 min in the high 170s.

ESC settings:

DRRS = 1
Timing = 1 (it's set to zero)

The motor continued to run strong, but I need to get temps down. I see there are others running higher gearing (14 & 15 tooth pinions) on similar sized tracks, but I'm starting to suspect a drivetrain issue.

Is there anything else I should do as far as the ESC is concerned?

when you disconnect the motor from the drivetrain and free wheel it, any binding, weird clicking, etc?

have you tried temping the motor with a different temp gun to confirm that your temp gun is working accurately?

No binding or weird clicking when disconnected, only under power. I'm going to pull it apart tonight.

I used 2 guns and all were similar.

how would you describe your driving style? Are you smooth or on power / braking a lot?
