[QUOTE=Nexus;13267866]Did you walk through the calibration for your TX to the ESC?

Hi- yes I calibrated and got the confirmed 1,2,3 beeps for NEU, FOR, REV respectively.

It's wild- it starts out slow occasionally and then almost hits a burst that is 5 times the power (would be great if constant).... then once you let off it's intermittent power delivery- both delayed and extended in it's delivery.

It cogs like crazy also. I tried changing defaults with the card to lower than default settings to no avail.

Thanks again

Question for the speed passion Guru's

I have a Reventon R Esc and a MMM 17.5 combo in my durango Dex210 and it has done alot of race meet's.

On 3 separate occasions at about the 4 min mark in the race, the motor acts like its gone sensor-less, as in low throttle control is missing and when I stop and slowly takes off it cogs badly.

Now the 1st time I just turned the ESC off then on and it resolved it the other two times irrelevant of what I tried it would still cog.

I would go out and marshal the next race(6 min) and when I come back to my pit area to check it the car works normal.

Things I have replaced:

New sensor cable
New timing board (from red to a green)
New Rx
Checked motor ohm's measurement across winding's is even. 2-3 Ohm
Checked solder connection on ESC

So my logical conclusion is its the ESC and when it gets hot. The thing is after races its 40-50deg on a temp gun, and I have tried with a Fan and no fan.

Other possibility is the Capacitor is faulty.

Its really random as its only happened 3 times over 8 race meets.

and yesterday it did it once out of 5 races.

LED status remains the same but I run Blinky (Stock 0)also

Maybe its sensor circuit on the actual ESC. Any further diagnostics I could do and ideas would be great.

Thanks ahead of time.

Might have too much timing or gear. That will sometimes make it act like that.

Download the newest software...make sure your programmer card is also updated and

Try loading in Safe Mode...

Open Reventon PC interface, Press "S" button (keyboard). The right top corner will show "Safe mode". Connect ESC to LCD card. Pressing the LCD card "Value" button and then connect LCD card to PC. The LCD card will display "CONNECTING PC". Release "Item button". Click "Update firmware" to flash ESC

Hmm interesting.

Currently running a FDR of 5.27 (34/69*2.6) on a SP 17.5 MMM with Green board set at 25Deg.

I have had this happen with 33 & 34 pinion, I gear high as we have a 60Ft straight and a tripple that needs the gearing.

I did find upon pulling the ESC out a loose connection on the + on the Cap so have resoldered, the bullets going into the motor were a bit loose so have replaced with new ones, installed a Yeah racing fan and a new sensor wire.

Got a big race meet this weekend so will see how it goes hopefully it was the issue.

If not the ill grab a Reventon Pro

I have the gt 2.0 non low-pro in my 44.1 and love it. 2s saddles

Hoping to pull the trigger on the 1.1 combos soon for summer racing.

HM

Default boost for 4.5t mmm?

hi guys this is my first post on this thread and i would like some advice, i race my xray t4 in an unlimited mod class running lola bodies and foam tyres, well i say unlimited but we are restricted to 2s lipo and 540 motors. up until now i have run the comp v3.0 4.5t motor unsensored and it has run well, you may ask why unsensored?, well the reason is my esc is not your typical 1/10 onroad esc, it is a castle mamba max pro, now i know they can run sensored but for some reason it has never worked with my setup for reasons unbeknown to me, i have tried a few times with no success.
one of my competitors recently shoehorned a tekin rx8 esc into his tc6 and since then we cant keep up, he runs faster AND cooler, i know he is using boost as well as god knows what else when he programmed it. and now others are starting to copy him.
in desperation i bought the mmm 4.5t and have tested it once but it felt to strong and heated up quick as well. i changed out the sensor board for a stock 0-10 degree unit and gave it another crack with the sensor wire... hey presto it works!!
now i plan to gear down a little and add boost, so my question is have others done it before ( im sure yous have ) and how much boost should i run or how much is too much boost for a 4.5t? any info would be greatly appreciated
cheers
