I just purchased one of these ESC's along with a Speed Passion Blaze 550 4 pole 4600kV Motor for my Losi SCTE 4x4. Is anyone else running this combo? If so I would like to hear your comments good or bad. I would also like a recommendation for a good starting set up for the ESC. I just placed the order yesterday so I should see the shipment very soon. Feeling excited. Hopefully its a lot more durable than the Hobbyking crap that I had. Thanks
Gordon.

The Reventon isn't really meant for 4-pole 550 cans. That is asking a bit too much from that ESC. If you are dead set on running that combo, do not add any timing or boost from the ESC! I would also turn punch levels down to a low level.

Blaze 550 1/10 4x4 SCT series Brushless motor - 4600KV for SCT 4x4, 5MM Shaft. Ideal for 1/10th scale 4x4 Short Course Truck Racing. Perfect for Reventon Series ESC running boost or Turbo software on MOD racing. Motor came with built in cooling fan inside the motor for extreme cooling and increase overall performance.

Why do you say that running the Reventon would be too much for this combo? I read on the Speed passion web sight that running the Blaze 550 & the Revention with turbo is a perfect combo for the 4x4. Here is what I read copied and pasted right from the web sight. I may be wrong on it being a 4 pole motor. It does not say in the specs of the motor how many pole motor it is. However I purchased the motor and ESC from Express Hobbies. In there ad it states it as being a 4 pole. Hopfully when it comes the paper work will state what it is. I have a 2 pole 550 Hobbyking 4x4 motor that I can use if this ESC doesn't work well with a 4 pole motor. My money is on the line on this combo.

The Blaze will run fine on a Reventon Pro, old or 1.1. I didn't run the 4600 but the 5700, with boost. The ESC worked just fine.
I believe my DRRS was Level 3, Timing was 3* slope at 9000k up to 120k.

I was running that Servo with my Tekin RS Pro and had issues with browning out constantly. I then switched to SP and the browning out issue rarely presented itself. I then switched to an MT-4 radio and have not had a single issue since.
I think the Sanwa Rx's are simply better engineered than Futaba at this point. If you are running a Futaba radio you're going to want to run a glitch buster as well. I could've done that myself, which, for my 4.2 would not have been an issue but on my 410, it's so short on space I simply opted to switch radios and upgrade my son's radio with my hand me down.
