I have been a speedpassion fan boy since they 1st came out...Recently i have been disappointed with the motors...I have had 3 v3.0 motors rotors come apart..a 7.5,9.5,17.5...plus 2 more motors just up and fry??? WTH? My son is a pro driver and I cant have these issues racing at a top level..Anyone else have these problems with motors? can the rotor be put back together using jb weld?

I have been running 2 Reventon R 17.5 systems in 2WD SC and 2WD Buggy with allot of success and no problems as far as rotors. The only issue I have ever had was a stock timing board with minor cogging. Were the temps getting up there pretty high? I don't think mine ever went over 155*, so maybe that's why I haven't had an issue.

I've been running a 7.5 for a solid year and now an 8.5 for 3 months and have had zero issues. The 7.5 was on my 4.1 all that time and it took some serious abuse, the likes of 8th scale douches smashing into me and/or knocking me into the pipes and walls. I think you need to examine your motors to see if they share any similar marks or signs of damage.
As for JB Weld, I don't think you should even consider that because the rotors are balanced to ensure minimum vibration. Using JB Weld will more than likely result in an off balance rotor, unless you figure out a way to leave a perfectly uniform amount at the joint.

Has anyone had issues with the Reventon S and LRP X20 motors? I run an XB4 4wd in Blinky 17.5 and have run 29/72 gearing the past 6 months, motor came off usually at 140, the past 4 weeks I have changed from an LRP speedy to the Reventon S as I like the feel of the drag brake a lot better on the speed passion but the motor is now coming off at 180-190. ESC Temps are fine, LED card says it comes off at 45-50c. I have not changed anything on the motor, still running the std 30 degree insert, checked bearings and they are fine, no drivetrain binding etc

I need some help with gearing on the Competition V3.0 Brushless Motor - 17.5R
I am running a Durango DESC210 with the gearing at 75/26 on a medium to large size track. The problem that I was having is that after a 5 minute heat the motor came off at 185 degrees but was fast until the last minute or so. When I geared down one tooth to a 25 then the thing was really slow and came off after the 7 minute main at 155 degrees. One other issue I had was that I was not able to clear the triple like some of the other trucks were able to do, did not feel like enough torque to take off as the run up to the jump was short. I have the yellow board installed and set at what I believe to be 35 degrees of timing. I can see the potential in this motor just need help getting it set up. Thanks for any help on this.
