Have to decide if you want a multipurpose ESC so you just buy one. U have PM.

I had a little scare with an update fail on my Reventon Pro (original). It has been a while since I updated things so thought I would do it before next weeks race. After fumbling through the goofy software and instructions I finally managed to get the LCD box updated to 2.7. Good deal, step one done. Next got it connected to ESC and started to upload the latest Mod2 profile. It got about half way done then got a dreaded update fail. Then of course the speed control wouldn't connect anymore. Nothing worked. So started messing around and reverted back to the 2.5 program card firmware. Was thinking the Latest Mod 2 didn't like to update with the 2.7 card software.

Well at first that didn't work trying to upload Mod2 with Card software 2.5. I got to this point by saying no to connect esc then hit the firmware button. Since the speed control was connected it gave me a list of profiles for the speedo. So I try a different profile, Stock0. It loaded. Then went and tried loading Mod2 and it also loaded and it seems to be ok now. Last thing I put 2.7 back on the program card since it is needed for some of the custom percentage settings.

So far so good, thought I bricked it. But I think it is alive again. Just writing this in case someone else comes across a semi bricked speed control when trying to update.

can anyone hook me up with a part number for replacement fans for the Reventon Pro (original) all I can find are the ones for the 1.1 and can't seem to figure out if they are the same. Any help would be great!

Reventon Pro 1.1 problems...

1. Im having a problem setting my EPA. I turn it on and keep hold of the setup button like it says and nothing happens at all just sits there. The car works but as you can imagine i have to push the the throttle about 50% to get it to move at all because the EPA hasnt been set.

2. I cant hold the power button to turn it off, again does nothing and i have to unplug the battery to get it to turn off.

3. Im trying to update the firmware to Mod2 for 2wd buggy, when i try to do so i get this message: 'reventon r can only update r firmware' Same result if i try to update to any other firmware on the list...

Things ive tried:

Throttle reversed
sensor wire out
different receiver

I also tried updating it to the reventon r mod2 as this seems to be what it wants... and it uploaded fine, only thing is i can only select reventon r firmware now, no option for reventon p...

Any ideas?

When you turn on the interface, press the "S" button and go to the SAFE MODE and reinstall the software to the ESC, that should work....

So, you unbrick your ESC by using the V2.5 version of the LCD card and somehow that unbrick the ESC....? That is good to know...

Ya I didn't know about the Safe Mode. But only the Stock0 profile would load at that point with 2.5. Then Mod 2 loaded with 2.5. I haven't tried anything software wise past that, just left speedo as is then loaded 2.7 back on the card.

What are the differences between Mod0, Mod1 and Mod2?

Jason I didnt care for mod2, it has a soft bottom end and a strong mid to top pull. Mod1 has been the smoothest ive used so far.

I have been offered a gt 2.0 esc for a nice price , but I do have a question. Is it possible to program this GT esc with a Reventon pro lcd box ? I have the impression that you cannot, but I have never tried either . Has anyone else tried or done it ?

You cannot use the Reventon programmer box with the GT Pro ESCs

Cain 12-12-2013 01:38 PM

nope. Got both box types here.

However, if you want to save a buck, it is possible to use a hobbywing box. just flash the box with speed passion software. This however is NOT supported by Speed Passion so any issues, you will not receive help on it.

But, its what I have sitting here as at the time coudl not get the Speed passion box.

Wildcat1971 12-12-2013 01:45 PM

I have HW firmware on my gt pro, muhaaaa

wittyname 12-12-2013 01:50 PM

Ok , interesting . Cain , I have a Hobbywing box . Do you have any Idea if it will program the Hybrid boost timing functions ? I recall having to use a particular firmware with the Reventon to do that

derekbsmith 12-13-2013 09:04 AM

new to SP. looking at a SP reventon pro, assume this will work in my sct 4x4 since its 140a? im using a HW sct pro now and its 120a continuous. also, my motor is a revtech 4800kv.
OK to use? I emailed support 3xs with no response. : (
thx!!!

cripplethreat 12-13-2013 09:09 AM

This is the best place to ask because the website support is absolutely worthless.. I've emailed many times also and to no avail
