550 2-poles seem to work fine. 4-pole anything is use at your own risk as it is officially not supported by SP. Some have got 4-poles to work with the RevPro, but others (including me) weren't so lucky even with advise of those who made it work.

evrywhere i checked it's 139.00
and it smoked the esc.

Watch eBay. There are occasional deals like that. I just ordered a pro w/ an 8.5t SP motor for $155 shipped. I would steer clear of the sellers that have no/really low feed back & very low prices though.

I have not trolled this thread in a while. Has the QC on the reventons improved yet? How is the SP customer service. Please dont reply with 100 posts about how reventons walk on water and never break. I am not here to have an epeen esc showdown. I am in the market for an inexpensive esc and the older GT series SP esc's were the bomb. I am looking at the S or R version. Not the pro.

I get what you are looking for, but to be honest I am not sure you can get an answer other than what you said you don't want to hear as far as reliability goes as those who don't have issues, will say just that. Those who do, will too lol.
I feel your pain though as I do want to try one of these for sure.

+1 yeah, its not. the GT2.0 Pro series is killer in that it can do 4x4 SCTs too. Been using it with a Tekin 4 pole 4600Kv in my Tekno and been really love it. great ESC.
Still got the same question for a speed passion rep. What happened to the Cirtix R8 speedos? Seems these had a lot of the features I would like in a 1/8 based esc that coudl be small enough for a 4x4 sct as well.
