A coupe of questions, does the Speed Passion Revention Club Stock ESC have a reverse function? When I got it, I assumed that it did, but other than a brief mention in the instruction manual (which is a generic coverall manual for multiple revention model ESCs) it appears that there is no mention of whether the ESC does in fact have a reverse.
If the ESC does in fact have reverse, the instructions are unclear as to how to program the reverse function on this particular ESC . Out of the box, the ESC does not have the reverse function programed. I have programed the full throtle, nuteral, and full break already per the insructions. I appreciate your help. Cheers, Wally |

the issue with the reventon pro and no 4 poles was that the tests were done trying to boost the 4 pole motors. This is a big no no.
Solara: Can you confirm that you can use the reventon Pro with 4 pole motors as long as you are not using boosting features of the ESC? the GT2.0 Pro does 4 Pole motors fine without boosting etc. I use it with the Pro4 4600kv from tekin, excellent ESC. However, many customer running REVENTON PRO with blinky software, or Mod1 Mod2 software, with static timing ONLY with 4 poles motor...and it works fine. Just no STOCK1 (turbo, boost, supercharger) software with 4 poles... |

If I am running a external bec with the silver arrow esc I just cut red wire on the esc lead. And I can get rid of the magnet to right?

I would suggest taking the red pin out of the connector, folding it back and wrap it with electrical tape. That way you wont need to replace the RX wire if you decide to not run with an external BEC. The "magnet" is actually called a choke. Its just a piece of iron that acts as a filter, ensuring the signal to the RX is clean. It doesn't hurt to keep it on, but if you want to remove it, do so at your own risk.

You should be fine running the sportsman motor. There are 2 different types of timing, ESC timing and MOTOR timing. On your motor, the timing is locked, but you can still tune the performance using ESC timing.

thanks for the info solara. So we can put the Reventon Pro down as able to do 540 4 pole motors with the right software.
I know guys who want the ESC but needed that confirmed. |
Hello Solara,
First of all thanks for posting lots and lots of very useful information in both speed passion threads. A few quick question I have a Reventon Pro and a Comp MMM 10.5 in a HPI Blitz 2wd SCT. I have been playing with the DRRS 3.0 settings to get the best mix of traction and power. Is this setting limiting the maximum current to be pulled from the battery/current sent to the motor at x throttle position? or is it changing the throttle curves to be softer or more aggressive. Secondly is the overheat protection of 95Deg for the motor or ESC ? Thirdly I am running the Mod2 firmware as recommended by you. How much do the power/brake curve/power application vary to the Stock0 Firmware? (I ask this due to our class requiring blinky mode but I prefer Mod2 with no timing) Is there any tables or data that show how the firmwares vary behind the scenes. Thanks. |
new speed passion pro

Need 2 esc for sct
I am looking to purchase 2 esc for sct this year. I currently run a Tekin rs with a Revtech 17.5 in my 2wd sct and a Tekin Rx8 with a Tekin 4 pole 4000kv in my SCTE 4wd. I am happy with these but want to try something different this year. What Speed Passion esc are recommended to replace the ones I have and will be comparable in performance? I will be using these for racing only. 17.5 class is boost and timing settings, I do not run any timing or boost on my Tekin 4 pole.
Thanks |

Thanks I run all GT2.0 Pros exclusively right now in my offroad vehicles including the Tekno SCT410, they work excellent. (correction, 1/8 buggy gets the Silver arrow V2 ESC) |

Thanks in advance However, I did see this when searching for blaze: http://woody.tarad.com/shop/w/woody/...27205112_b.JPG Curious as to what about the motor is different than the old 550ish Silver Arrow V2 motors other than Kv? Price doesn't look bad though, wonder what other Kv options there will be? |
I'm seeing comments about timing issues with the Reventon Pro. If I'm running the Pro with a 7.5T Sonic w/20 degrees of timing, is that going to be a problem?
