B44.2/ SP7.5 1C motor/ 20/81 gearing/ Mod2 firmware/ 3 punch, 26.5 timing, no drag brake, 100% brake, after calibration of the radio, I set the brake travel to around 60%. Motor timing was set at 5 degrees. After a 5 minute race. Motor temperature was 140 and esc was 120.
Thanks ;) |

Solara thanks for posting that info. I am trying a couple things this weekend and will report back if they work or not. I will also try what you have suggested and hopefully this will cure my shutdown issues.

I aksed SPTech the question about the capacitor and got this reply ! Many of our top drivers use the stock capacitor. If you want something better you can purchase the optional capacitor. It offers better overall performance in terms of running cooler, brakes, and other ESC functions. Part No.# EXT98802-C01 http://www.speedpassion.net/eu/produ...8802-C01&c=OPT I've got to be honest in that I could only geet them from SP Direct ( no UK Stock ) and they took 4 weeks to come ! I haven't had time to run them yet though, |
How are these ESCs for onroad and offroad?
I only need to run stock motors with zero timing, in a blinky-type mode. Can the 40a ESCs handle this? Nice and cheap.. has anyone used them? Or should I be considering the higher amperage models? |
Sp esc's & motors
Was hoping to get some helpful opioins need to esc & motors for my cars
Sc10ft 2wd will be running 17.5 Durango dex210 will be running 10.5 Which motor esc would be recommended???? Thanks for thoughts |

Ok I have a problem, my cousin bought a reventon s and asked me to program it for him. I dl'd the newest software and usb driver but I cannot get the program to work. I tried both on my laptop and pc. My laptop keeps getting shut down even though I hook up the esc to the pc first then hook up the lipo. On my pc it just keeps asking if I want to connect my ESC and even when I hit yes it does nothing but come back to ask me if I want to connect. Any help would be appreciated.....
If you are only changing profile settings you just connect the ESC + Programming Card + Battery.

I'm sure that this may be covered in the 2,000 post but I couldn't find it after looking and searching several pages.
I have a Speed Passion Lpf 2.0 GT and was wondering if I can get into the advanced settings (drag brake, timing, etc.) without having the programming card? If I cannot, could someone tell me where to get this programming card? Thanks The card in this picture will NOT work with Reventon ESC. http://www.banzaimotors.com/images/program_card.jpg

In any case, I believe you will find the Speed Passion ESC great for all applications. Just find one within your budget.

Well, finally I had the opportunity to run the Reventon PRO with the latest MOD2 software. I run a Team Durango DEX210, Venom 7.5 motor, geared 83/22, Venom 3800 60c "Shorty", and adjusted the parameters on the esc using my laptop to suit my needs. It worked flawlessly, and I think even smoother than my GT 2.0 pro, which I didnt think could be possible. I had more control, and more power than I knew what to do with. I am sold.. and I didnt need the mega capacitor, I used the stock single barrel.

If you are running those turn motors, and have no plans and going down, I would grab the Revention S for both. That ESC will only go down to a 9.5 so if you are thinking of going lower than that a Revention R or Pro will be needed. As far as the motors I am running a Sportsman V3 in my 2wheel buggy and love it but I also just ordered a V3 Competition for the 4wheel buggy I have coming. Blake |

Just wondering if anyone has had issues with the new style capacitor that currently ships with the Reventon Pro. I had one cook off and puff on the bench a few minutes after being connected for the first time. All wiring was correct and clean. The new style capacitor has a circuit board on the end. I just sizzled on its own. Luckily I heard it sizzle and was sitting right in front of it. I had just finished calibrating the ESC to my radio and was about to take it out for a quick test run. I immediately unplugged the battery. The sizzling stopped after about 5 seconds but not before spewing capacitor juice into my chassis. I called Speed Passion Tech support. They were great (thanks Albert!). They told me to try another capacitor and see if everything else is still ok. I cut off the puffed capacitor and spliced in a new capacitor from my Reventon R kit. It's the older production type capacitor that is just a wired capacitor (no small PCB on end). Everything seems perfect now. I babysat it for 30 minutes to make sure it was stable (no smoke, yay!). Ran the car for about 10 minutes and all seems fine. It looks like the factory may have soldered the red/black wires into the PCB in reverse or a component on the small PCB failed. Anyone know what the differences or reason between the new and old Capacitors? Anyone else have any issues with the new Capacitor? Glad I didn't walk away.....never leave your LiPo's connected!
