Having huge issues with my ESC shutting down. Tried everything suggested. Would love to send it back, but unable to locate receipt from large purchase I made when I bought the buggy it was in back in December. Is there something I can still do to send it back for a fix?
Already purchased another ESC, but would like my $200 spent on this one to work for another rc if possible.

Reset your radio epa to 100 f 100 b
make sure your radio is not in high speed mode
rebind the ESC to the radio (do the setup)
select profile 2, make no changes, and go do some laps
Don't worry about how it feels. We just want a baseline to see if your issues are still there.
if you still have issues after this, then do the following:
try a different sensor wire
try a different motor
try a different radio (not always possible)
Make sure you do all of these tests with out changing anything on profile 2

Are you guys using the same settings as you did for the a55 firmware? I changed profile #1 on my vtx10 with a64 to be just like my a55 was. I see you guys are still turning on the dynamic braking by default. I thought for off-road that was considered to be not great? Bu the off-road profiles have it.
here's my settings:
17.5 buggy (blinky)
5000 mhz throttle pwm
100% punch
dead band medium
linear throttle curve
800 mhz brake pwm
67% brakes esc / 75% radio (this only works with 800mhz. If I don't run 800mhz, I feel like I have no brakes with this setting)
12% drag brake
17.5 SCT blinky
same as above but usually have to dial in a bit more brakes on the radio and esc 70% esc and 80% on radio.
2wd mod buggy (8.5 or 9.5 usually)
9600 mhz throttle pwm
80% punch
dead band medium
linear throttle curve
800 mhz brake pwm
67% brakes esc / 75% radio (this only works with 800mhz. If I don't run 800mhz, I feel like I have no brakes with this setting)
12% drag brake
If the grip is down, I will raise my forward PWM until I get it smooth enough for my liking. I adjust that first and Punch second because I feel punch is a much bigger adjustment. I would rather leave it set

before you do anything else, do this:
Reset your radio epa to 100 f 100 b
make sure your radio is not in high speed mode
rebind the ESC to the radio (do the setup)
select profile 2, make no changes, and go do some laps

did you try to reflow your solder joints? I had the same issue and it turned out one of my solder joints was not as good as it should be. same goes for the caps

I'm using the same brake settings, but my throttle settings are different.
here's my settings:
17.5 buggy (blinky)

100% punch
dead band medium
linear throttle curve
800 mhz brake pwm
67% brakes esc / 75% radio (this only works with 800mhz. If I don't run 800mhz, I feel like I have no brakes with this setting)
12% drag brake

12% drag brake
I'm guessing your settings will feel drastically different?
Ok wow...what am I doing wrong? My brake settings are WAY different but I don't really like how the car brakes either...not enough track time to test stuff though. I'm at 88% brakes on the ESC and 100% on the radio with 12,000Hz PWM. Honestly it feels like the brakes hardly work when rolling slow, like lining up for a start I always roll past the line. But in a race when I hit the brakes at the end of a straight and I loose the rear end. I was going with the high PWM to soften how that hits and the high percentage to feel like I have some brakes.

Try my settings exactly and see how you like them. if you need a little more, adjust the EPA on the radio up 2-3% at a time

You wont have any very low speed brakes. This is why crawlers use brushed motors, lol. As far as max/min break. I like to set my esc brake to 100%, then ton them down on the radio. this gives me all of the available breaking and I can limit with radio. for out doors I am running 100% esc and 60% radio. We have a high speed straight into a 180 turn. I set my brakes for full wood to full brake with no lockup. The rest of the track does not require brakes. Set your brakes up to the surface. most people say, find the spot on the track that is the loosest and set you brake for full lockup on that section.
Actually I have to stop saying mine. They were Travis's brake settings. He suggested I try them and I love them.
tell you what bob. I will setup a profile with your brakes, just to compare on the track

Whoa, I am very happy with my viper brakes. you guys and hobbywing have the smoothest brakes. I have very little need to have stopping or holding power at 1mph. Nor do I need to be able to brake and hold position on an incline. Viper has sexy brakes.

If you get on a high bite track, then you can bump them up higher.
Oh yeah, it's also cool to hear your brakes make that '8th scale' sound haha
my car? must be my kids, she had a tekin, they make a nice sound. I sold her tekin and plan to pickup another viper once i can sell a few more things. I would like to get down to just one brand of esc. currently running 3. My car has had a viper in it for over a year.
