Well got it all tuned up runs great and works just like i thought it would, i lost a sensor broad in my tekin pro4 4000 so i ended picking up the Viper 550 5.0 what a beast this thing hauls very happy, can't wait till spring and i can get this on a outdoor track.

Haha I know this has come up several times, but can someone confirm a higher pwm increases esc temps but lowers motor temps (and smoothens power/reduces punch)?

Thanks!

Correct on all accounts. Although I don't really think it reduces punch, I think it smooths the power delivery out. That can sometimes feel like the punch is reduced.

I will also note that if you go too high with Throttle Freq it can cause heat as well for the motor. There is a happy middle of the road that can be found with little testing. Too high or Too low, can be a bad thing -- the middle is just right.

For me personally - spec motors = 5000 to 12000, modified motors = 9600 to 16000

This can vary with driving style and motor being used.

Ok I may have a problem. vtx10, ran perfect last race. Today went to check my diff in my driveway after I rebuilt it. Diff is good, but for some reason when I go past 3/4 throttle it seems to be missing a tad. So I thought maybe my motor is having a issue. Put in a brand new viper motor and it is still doing the same. Next changed the sensor wire. Still the same. Changed rx's and it still does it. I also tried to rebind my radio and rx, still does it. It does not do it at slower speeds, only when I go past half throttle. Suggestions? If it matters im using a dx3r radio. My epa on throttle is set at 100%

PM me your settings, sounds like something isn't set right

Anyone got a starting pinion size for a copperhead-R/VX4R.45 in a tekno sct410? Medium->large outdoor

Bob Barry 12-28-2013 07:21 PM

I'm one who usually prefers 16,000 pwm but I decided to do some testing over the last few days in my buggy.
TLR 22 2.0 (rear motor)
VTX10 BE
VST 9.5T motor

Throttle:
8000mhz PWM
100% punch
Linear
Deadband Middle
10% Drag Break
Dynamic Brake disabled
800 mhz brake pwm
67% brake strength
75% brake EPA
Try it out. :)

Bob, are you running your vtx on the chassis behind the shorty on your 22 or you running mid motor still. I will pm you my settings tomorrow

I'm running rear motor, ESC on shelf. I am going to put the ESC on the chassis. Either tomorrow or next week. I basically am mirroring Chris Bing's setup. He kinda used me as a guinea pig at The Track in November and every change we made to my car just made it better and better.

Right now we are testing yellow rear springs with the shock in the middle hole on the arm. I'm also running 3x1.4 pistons, which seem to be really good.

Wildcat1971 12-28-2013 08:17 PM

3.x1.4 in MM right? I have some of those and was tempted to try them in rm

Kevin_M 12-28-2013 08:18 PM

Bob ill see ya tomorrow at the track.

Bob Barry 12-28-2013 08:19 PM

no, rear motor. 3x1.4 with 32.5 fr and 30 rr. I am not sure about the oil yet. I may go to 30 and 27.5 Right now it feels really good.
