Jamison- PM your email so I can try and get some more information from you. While you were at the Track did anyone point you to Gabe to see if he could help you??

We have been running this system all over the world for over a year without issue. I use the exact radio, receiver and servos listed with no issues on my personal cars. We'll help you look at it.

I hate it when anyone has an issue at the track and misses track time, hate to say it happens but it does. I went to IIC in Vegas last year and missed both practice days when the throttle pot on my radio broke - so I am with you, it sucks.

There have been conversation all over forums for a while about those servos (and other rebranded the same) causing voltage spikes. From my personal experience I have never had it happen, but I have seen others who do.

Should the viper vtx8 be able to handle the Savox 1258TG? because mine cannot without rebooting frequently

Is the Vtx8 a linear or switcing BEC?

My hobbywing SC8 and WP8 esc's never have one single issue with Savox 1258TG's... I always seem to end up with this random rebooting dance with all my viper ESC's and then it magically goes away...never to return and I'm out of ideas.

I didn't get a chance to try a different servo in my new VTX8 yet I will try tonight hopefully.

i'm thinking about trying the viper vtx10 with a vst 8.5 motor in my 2wd sct.
what's the difference between a vtx10r and the vtx10, also what rotor comes in the 8.5 motor? thanks for any help.

I run the VTX10 and 8.5 in my B4, the 10R is for 6.5 motors and bigger (lower winds)

Not sure what rotor is that comes in the 8.5, probably a standard.

I can't speak for the VTX8 but I've been running the VTX10's for quite a while with 1257, 1258 and 1256 Savox servo's with no problems. They are power hungry servos. Most folks that have had issues with Savox servos were also running Spektrum radios. I'm running Airtronics. It could be that the Viper BEC allows the servo to actually pull what it wants to and the receiver can't handle it. Just a thought....

Great choice, that's what I run in my SC10. I've got the original orange VTX10 and love them.

So the issues with the VTX8 are mainly around servo choice? I was just looking at running a VTX8 on 4S in 1/8 buggy with a 2050kv motor and Futaba servo. Anything special I should consider?

I dont believe there are any issues with the VTX8 as far as servos, you may have to run a cap at most, but thats nearly any ESC that runs a Savox and Spektrum combo.

I'm running the VTX8 with a Futaba radio and DS1015 servo, no issues whatsoever

I am running a vtx8 on 4s, 1900kv & 2050kv motors, hitec 7955tg, and 4pks transmitter.

Love my VTX10 w/Savox 1258 17.5 Viper motor...... smooth as butter all the way around. No external BEC needed. Although I do have one just in case I ever have an issue with ANY setup.

KTM- PM me, pretty sure I can tell you why it's resetting. And how to fix it.

Holeshot- there are no direct known issues, In fact many like that the SBEC
Voltage can be increased to work better with high voltage servos.
