Hey lets just say im enjoying the Viper Copperhead R and 550 4500kv motor and esc combo in my 4wd SC10. No problems yet. Bought some street fighter street tires
so i can do pavement runs without tearing up my offroad tires.

Motor was barley warm after a 12 minute run. I can put my hand on it.

I sent you a couple more PM's I don't think that is the issue.

However I just "fixed" it..( VTX 8 ) I turned my steering enpoints down to 60%( from 80% )... I dont have full steering now but the rebooting has gone away. I guess I will just keep bumping my endpoints back up to try to get full steering without it rebooting on me.

does the vlink for the computer link work with the viper copperheadr?

I used it and updated my v10s but when I connect to the copperheadr s I got it gives me it not the that type of esc. I guess what iam asking is their a version for the copperheadr esc or is it just programmable via the gauge box. which I have.

KTM, PM's answered - email sent.

BigDon - no there is no VLink for the Copperhead series, just the VTX series.

The VTX8 version is being finalized and sent to the website folks to post --- with some updates!!

What is the difference between punch control and forward power? My guess is that punch limits the burst of power normally used from from a stop or slow speed when you get on it hard. Forward power is like an EPA for throttle?

does anyone ever even adjust forward power on the esc? seems like epa would be better since you can do it from the driver stand if you really want to.

Think of Punch Control as a torque control. Lowering it will help control wheel spin and the initial launch.

With Forward Power it is similar to the EPA as mentioned, that is the old way of doing it. Think if it like this. When you adjust EPA, you are messing with the throw of the throttle range, which could cause issues with some radios neutral point.

Hi, from the 2 posts is this a software change you guys are putting out?

Be interesting to see the changes....mine has run without skipping a beat, and nice and cool (120ish esc and motor after 8 minutes)...may avoid upgrading ha! Should older versions still work with the progauge?

One other Q, how do I reset a profile to factory settings? I have played with the profiles and on one esc would not mind going back to "stock"!

If you have the PC Link, you can reset them once they release the software. I dont think the PG has the ability to reset to defaults.

So if you purchase the VTX8 is it recommended to buy the PC-Link and Progauge or can the PC-Link do all the adjustments the Progauge does?

PC Link - Does everything but requires.... a PC
The PG - is the track side esc program box and lipo tester.

If you all ready take a lap top to the track or have no really need for track side tuning, just get the PC Link. Firmware can ONLY be done with the PC Link
