Hi,

I have a VTX10R-BE with VST 6.5, it is on a Durango DEX410v3 with default spur (87T) and 19T pinion, I have the throttle frequency on 12000, no boosts or timing just the default mechanical 30 on the motor itself, punch is set to 90% esc/motor temp cut off at 200 degrees. breaks on 80% with 5000 frequency, no dynamic or drag breaks, i started with profile 2.

I have a problem with my car performance dropping after 1:30-2:00 minutes, from starts, the car just flies for a minute and then performance drop bad, I tried to lower the throttle to 8000 (from 12000) and the car is slower than 12000 but still after a minute or two performance drop, I use the new turingy a-spec 5600mah battery rated at 65~130C, I also tried a friends orion and it was the same, and my friend tried my battery with another (red) esc and he had no such problem so it doesn't appear to be battery related.

What else can be done?

Remove the motor the motor temp cut off and put the esc at 220. I run the vtx10r be in my durango sct with a vst 550 4.5 with no problems its just as fast as a t---- pro 4 rx8 combo.

i dont think it the motor temp cut off, i had it b4 on 160 for the motor and it was reaching that temp, the car just stopped with specific lights on the bec this is just for safty and shouldnt impact preformance, i mentioned this to indicate i have it on and nothing is overheating, it is fast, the first minute its the fastest car around after the first minute its not just slower but weaker on the jumps as well...

I did it too. Put the Temp Cut Off to 220 & Motor Cut Off to 200. I never had any problem. I have a Losi SCTE 4x4 and I'm running the VTX10R with a 4.5 XL Motor. Geat Esc & Motor and Service is even better and fast

Yes I am. I did have to change the response to NORM on the 4PKS. I was getting some glitching every now and then. It was like the receiver was getting interference. Once I changed to NORM in the radio I have had 0 issues. I dont think it was the speedo/receiver/servo issue more like a radio/receiver issue.

I am running a V10 red version and 8.5t motor.

I will post my settings up soon.

Map price is
$189.99 w/o progauge
$209.99 with Progauge

Wildcat1971 12-01-2012 06:41 PM

I received my vtx10 with progauge today. Was slight harder to calibrate and get into config mode than my BH's. But I got it working. I am running a reedy sonic 13.5 in a b4 and picked the profile 3 (a30 firmware). I left most of the setting stock, I disabled the turbo delay and upped the BEC to 7v for my HV servo. I see all the pros running the 6v bec settings. Will I have issues at 7v? I think it was like 35deg timing and 5deg turbo. I think you call it top speed timing. I am running stock motor timing (20deg) with 30/75 gearing. Any thoughts on this configuration? Btw, on the bench the esc seemed smooth. I really like the construction of the esc. Looks like the best constructed esc I have come across.

bring it on 12-01-2012 07:59 PM

My Viper powered stadium truck ran great last night, Qual'ed 2nd and won the main... Rick Jenkins

Thanks. That's not bad at all considering how nice they are. I think this might be "THE" 1/8 esc to own.....

I'm definitely going to pick at least one up to try. When are they expected to hit Amain?

nikos2002 12-01-2012 09:44 PM

sevet, are you using performance or having a temp cut off? PM me more details so we can see about figuring it out.

omg- what are aarrmc rules?? And yes, we manufacture our speed controls ourselves out our own facility. Everything from building the boards to cutting the metal, even laser inscription on the esc's and motors.

Wildcat- yes if your servo can take it the esc can dish it out!! Gearing sounds like the ball park I have run before. Depends on track and traction as well.

silvalis 12-01-2012 09:49 PM

AARMCC rules are anything on the roar/efra/etc lists.
