Dynamic brake question
I am hoping someone can tell me if something is possible with the dynamic brake function. I would like to set it so that I have very weak drag brake at high speed and strong drag brake at low speed. I am not sure if this is possible.
I did some experimenting by setting the drag brake to 0 and using only the dynamic brake. I set the maximum dynamic brake to 100% and trigger rpm to 2,000.. I could hear the brake working down to about the 2000 rpm and then it seemed to instantly have no brake just as I would expect. Next, I tried maximum dynamic brake at 2% with trigger rpm at 2,000. I set the drag brake to 95% (just so I could tell it is working). The result was that I had a very strong drag brake at the high speed. I would have expected to have almost no drag brake at the high speed. It seems that the dynamic maximum brake % is added on top of the drag brake %. I hope everyone can understand what I am doing. If not, I will try to clarify. Thanks in advance. |

Sorry had to do it. I'm sure when it is released there will be a BIG post from the Viper crew with all the details. :tire: |
They will be available through our site, any hobby shop who wants to carry them and A Main.
When? Depends on shipping.... We'll keep everyone updated. |
2013 is going to be a fun year of racing :sneaky:

Well I tried REALLY hard (and dumb) to blow my VXT10BE up this afternoon. Don't know what exactly I was thinking but I plugged my neg lead into the positive terminal on my battery and then nearly plugged the pos into the negative. Huge spark, stinky smoke melted plastic and I thought I killed it. But I got lucky and the ESC works just fine still.
Really dumb...really lucky...glad the Viper is solid but don't suggest anyone else test this out. I'm going to avoid doing it again if I can. :tire: on a side note, I used to use a silver ink sharpie, and draw a box around the positive terminal, let it dry for 5 min. and then follow it with a red sharpie over the silver. definitely helped my mind 'click' before doing anything stupid. |

I did that once with a different ESC, and it went POOOOF. speedo caught fire, and almost lost the battery. Now I don't have any tubes connecter packs, I like the safety of using deans connectors & hardwired/direct batteries.
