I think this would be a better asked question at your track. don't be afraid to ask the fast guys questions. If they are a good racer, they'll help you out.
otherwise I would start at 5% and see if you can notice the difference. and add more from there. |

These are all good suggestions, however, I am the only one running Viper at my track so as I am going through the trial and error process, I would just like to see what others that are running the same product are experiencing so I know if I am in the ball park, or if I am trying to over come some other setup flaw.
In case you have missed it, I have been doing this for a long time (over 20 years). I am not the type to come on here and ask for setups. Just trying to see if I am in the ball park. Thanks for trying though..... |
I started at 15% drag brake and just left it there. When I tried the really high amounts, it was just wasn't for me

I use 5 to 20 pct drag depending on the motor and the traction

Well I tried REALLY hard (and dumb) to blow my VXT10BE up this afternoon. Don't know what exactly I was thinking but I plugged my neg lead into the positive terminal on my battery and then nearly plugged the pos into the negative. Huge spark, stinky smoke melted plastic and I thought I killed it. But I got lucky and the ESC works just fine still.
Really dumb...really lucky...glad the Viper is solid but don't suggest anyone else test this out. I'm going to avoid doing it again if I can. :tire: |

I put whiteout on the +ve terminal on my batteries. Some of the markings are hard to see at night.

What is the box stock setting for motor timing?
|
Well I'm hoping this is ok... Running my VTX10 w/ 17.5 in a 22SCT Mid Motor. Last night my average temp's were: Motor 161 degrees and ESC 102 degrees. Are these a good temp after a 5 min heat race???

I would think that the motor is a little bit high. Keep this in the back of your head.... for club racing, keep temps under 140, preferably 130. for big races, keep temps under 160, preferably 150. That's the rule of thumb I use. There's no perfect answer, but this has worked well for me in the past. |

colin. I run between 8%-12% in blinky. I like my car to roll thru corners (esp in stock) to maintain corner speed. try and get more off power steering in your evo to help if needed. lighter front oil and lower front ride height helped me.
