Great qualifying efforts from the Viper Team at the Spektrum Off-Road Championships this weekend. Kendall Welch is in the A-Main for Mod Truck, and Kevin Westindorf is in the A in a very tough field of 17.5 blinky buggy. More news to come thru the day!

njnew- enjoy!!
silvalis - waiting on delivery of production units. I want to give a time frame, but don't want to be wrong. I feel pretty safe to yes before Xmas.
Gooch - if you are in Profile 2, choose Misc Control, Run Mode. switch to open. Then settings are under motor power. Hz is hertz, it's how the throttle and brake freq are meaured. More detail info in the users manual and on the speed control pages on the website.

Just purchased the VTX10 w/controller card. Don't have USB cable (yet) for firm ware up grades nor have I even powered it up yet. Question is, do these ship w/ latest firmware or do I need to up it? Way to tell version?
REALLY EXCITED about this ESC!

I'm having issues with my second VTX10R. After setting it up, I can ramp up the throttle slowly and it's fine. If I pull the trigger too fast the motor stops.
This is the second brand new VTX10R that has done this. My M11x was on a new profile so I don't think it's radio settings. This is used with a Trinity D3 10.5 turn motor in a DEX210. Has anyone else experienced this?

A 165 temp after 10 minutes isn't that bad IMO, it has allot to do with running that long. Also things like your drive-train, bearings, etc.... can make some heat. And driving habits (ripping hard on the gas on a high grip track at real low speeds can build heat quick).
Have you tried the 23/81 and 80-85% EPA? Many of the people I know running a B4 with a 8.5 are somewhere like that and just turn up to 100% if they have a real long strait.
I know in one post you said you were running 15 Deg of timing on the can, stock is 30 deg. The low motor timing could also be making it get warm, you have it turned down enough to start making the motor less effecient

i am having some issues with my motor, vst 17.5. at the beginning of heats or mains, i have plenty of power, but as the motor heats up, i lose power. i am running this boosted 15 on the can, 30 deg. acc boost (St. 2500 Fin. 12000) and level 8 at 20 deg top speed. after the heats, my motor came off at 160.

I am in love with my Viper ESC and 17.5 motor!!! I have been running it in my 2wd buggy in blinky mode with the timing on the can maxed out. I have it geared pretty high and it never came off the track over 115 degrees. I have also never been passed on the straight either
I just pulled it out of my buggy and threw it into a touring car, and the temps never went higher than 135 degrees.
I can not say enough good things about the Viper equipment! The fact that they are orange is only icing on the cake
