Can anyone offer any advice or opinion on the VST17.5 vs the Novak standard 17.5? I am needing to purchase two 17.5T motors for my son and I for stock 2WD buggy and ran across this brand, I have ran the Novak before but am not locked into a brand, I just used them before.
How is the Vper RC warranty and support if I need to purchase parts or stater etc?

Hey Carl Crocco, the new VTX8 will be sensored only. They are almost ready to be produced at the factory and more info will come after the first production. We will keep you guys updated with some sneak peaks and some more detailed info in the coming weeks!!

Our 17.5's are up to snuff for 2wd buggy. Our motors are torque based so they are very effective for off road. 2011 ROAR National Champs in 2wd class. Warranty is 180 days any mfg defects. We do sell parts like rotors, sensor boards, etc. But not staters - that type of problem can be little more intense.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Yes they can be used in heavy duty 4wd applications just like the other brands. They will be powerful enough to handle all 4wd shortcourse motors.

That sounds great Eric I'm running the copperhead 5150 combo now but like to try a sensored system , and I think VIPERS customer service is #1 so I'd like to stick with their stuff
Thanks Bob

The copperhead system is great. To be honest it feels exactly like my tekin rx8 system in my e buggy. Only not as powerful lol. It's a awesome deal on the system.

There was a snag in the development of the Black Edition motors and there needed to be some retooling necessary. We are looking to release them as soon as we get the okay from the factory. Should be later in Novemeber.

Also for a boost setting in truck, i would follow this setup but gearing is different since this is for a Easy RC buggy

ok, i am at 15 on the can, 30 in acceleration boost start is 3500 finish at 12500, and 20 on top speed timing @ level 8 or 9.
my track is tight, so i need a lot of low end torque, but we have one very long and high speed staight. this has worked well power and temp wise: <90 in the vtx10r and ~135 on the motor.
i would like to have a little more low end horse power, what can i do to get more?
should i lower the start rpm little say 3000 or 2500? lower? i need to keep my top end speed where it is, or i am left behind, so droping down a tooth would not be preferable
my final drive is 9.28 in a 2wd short course truck, a losi XXX-SCT with all the bells and whistles.
thanks in advance

As long as my rx is rated up to 8.4 volts should I be able to up the bec on a vtx10r b.e. to 7.0 for a high voltage servo without needing an additional glitch buster?

do you guys use the dynamic brake in 2wd buggy or just disable it? I tried it this weekend and it took some time to adapt to it...

Yes i would start the RPM at 2500 to give more bottom end. I would also change the rotor on the motor to a torque based 12.8 mm rotor and that would help more than anything.

Dynamic brake is not used in off-road. Please set brake strength to 0%. If you want any drag brake then i would put 5-15% on the drag brake setting
