Viper RC -

I currently run the VTX10R w/ VST XL 4.5 and it also is very, very good.
Viper really did a good job with the CH and at such a low price point it really does make it almost a no-brainer.
Either one will give you all you need power wise. I like the fact when I can concentrate on driving better vs. if motor/esc is good enough for the track. Both give that feeling.

Ok so I wanna shoot myself again with this thing. I dont get it.
I was playing with some settings to just see about the RPM engagement points on the boost and timing and such to see any changes. Basically, no matter what I changed I could tell a difference except when I added timing it seemed the boost came in fast, regardless of RPM. Weird... might as well not even adjust the rpm!
Anyway, so for no reason now I have no throttle and it appears it wont calibrate. The orange and red LED started flashing simultaneously and I lost all connection. I couldnt power off the system so I had to pull the battery.
I powered it back up and still the red and orange LEDs are flashing, wtf... so I pulled the plug again since it still wouldnt power off.
I held down the power button to recalibrate, seems to be working. I pull the trigger, push the power button, tone and flash, GOOD..... push reverse, push the power button... no LEDs, no tone. Just the one main red LED is lit. I wait like a minute and let go of reverse. Tone sounds, lights cycle..... THE DAMN ORANGE AND RED LED ARE FLASHING AGAIN!!! No throttle, nothing. Steering works ok though. So I pull the battery again. power it back up, orange and red LED are flashing, nothing works..............
WTF happened, I wasnt even really using the darn system. Everything is VERY COOL, I didnt even drive the truck for more than maybe 30 seconds at a time during this whole testing and playing procedure.
Can anyone tell me whats wrong? If this thing is fried I'm going to be PISSED!

You unplugged the proguage befor saving your data then unplugged the battery causing it get stuck in Link mode.
To solve this read your manual on how to change profiles without the pro-guage and select a different one then you were last using.
And once you select a different profile link the proguage and go to the one you wanted to adjust and save the profile then disconnect the proguage.

Joe next time I see you at rchr I will have to get you to update my firmware. I would like both my esc's to have the same version.
Anyways, tried out the viper for the first time this weekend. After that little issue (loosing all power intermittently) that a new sensor cable seemed to fix it was good. Definitely felt smoother then my tekin rs and the brakes had a better feel to me.
I will run it a few more times. If no issues then I think the rest of my tekin stuff will have to go in the for sale section, so I can buy another esc for my 4x4.

And I have that other sensor cable for you too. Funny how you mentioned you liked how smooth the Viper was, I ran that other 4wd buggy in the 3rd qualifier that has something other than Viper in it and I could DEFINITELY feel the difference. The other speedo felt choppy and the brakes were mooshy. I'll be much happier with my Viper in that Buggy next time out, even though I finished close behind Mark with the choppy speedo

Weird I cant link the progauge if I'm stuck in link mode though.

ok I hope thats all it is. So is this something that has to be done? After making a progauge change you need to save it? I'm pretty sure I did that, I always save and then load the profile just to make sure before I unplug. But whatever, if it fixes this I dont care!!

Remember the profiles are stored in the esc not the progauge. So when you "load" your pulling the profile to the progauge for changes or saving back as one you want to use.
Hope that makes sense

You don't need to "load" after your done making changes. If you make changes to a profile just "saving" it stores it in the esc. Loading is if you want to change a certain profile in the progauge.

Also its fixed. Thanks rider313 for the advice! Now I know if that ever happens again what to do. Might hit the track today to tweak this thing a bit more, I love playing with it!

I have been running the Viper Copperhead now for two race weeks in my TEN SCTE and I am very happy with it. I don't have progauge yet, so that can only help. ;-) I have ran about 15 packs through it with no problems.

I have had a problem like jumpinj, but not so random from what i noticed its when i case or take a harder hit (landing or by other rc) i still have steering but not forward or reverse. It only happend 2 times last night seemed like it was resetting its self. Could it be the switch? I cant check what the leds are showing because im on the stands and having a very novice corner marshal giving you a blank stare as you ask him to see what it is flashing sounds frustrating. I had the esc mounted to the chassis at one point when it happend but i thought it was happening because i had it mounted that way. So i bought a new battery tray and it still happend. But in all love this setup very easy to program has good torque and for being senorless it is very smooth!

Is there a reason why the phones arent being awnsered at the head office. I have called 4 times last week withing their hours, and no awnser. I left a message to call me back, and that wasent returned either.
I have an 8.5t motor that hasent been over 150* in the 3 times ive used it, and now the rotor has demagnitized itself. I dont know how it did it, cuz thats not hot for a motor, but it happened. Please get back to me guys, because il like to send it in to see what you guys think happened.
