Have you calibrated it to yet?
If I recall. If you have to hit the set button to set each end point you have the current software.

I bought the cable and when I did the update I had to do that... before I did not

The VX4 series of motors (The R.51, R.45 and R.39) are a little louder than most other motors in the market because of the way they are built. They have a different spec stator lamination that isn't as thick as other motors. This is done to be more efficient, but it also reduces the amount of material to absorb sound, so you hear more motor noise. It is nothing to be worried about.

When you connect the ProGauge and select "Link Device" you will get a message that says the Firmware version (A19, A30, etc.....)

The old esc might be a19 and the new one a30 - there were updates and some of the selections changed as we did those updates. Wen you connect your ProGauge it will tell you which software you have.

Mike- most of the major sticker companies (like Upgrade and Fastlane) have the Viper logos and make decals. They may not list it on their website. You have to call them. We begged to be added, so I customers would use their services but no luck yet.

Default Firestorm 10t which vtx10 combo?

Hey so I have been in the hobby for about 6 months now and have decided to get into racing. I have a firestorm 10t stadium truck and tomorrow I will be buying a vtx10 combo I just don't know which motor to get in that combo.

This truck is going to be my racer and will be built around that and it will race on 2s. Sometimes i would like to be able to do speed runs up and down the street on 3s and maybe some park bashing on dirt and short grass. I will be running in the ST mod class at my track.

I have been looking at these combos for a while and I'm really not sure what turn would be best. It seems most people run CC systems in these trucks so i can't find much info on which viper is best for my truck.

So which motor? 3mm or 5mm pinion? and for this motor what would be a good pinion size to start on? The spur is 87t 48P.

Thank you very much.

If you're going to run Mod Class you want the 8.5T, try a 19T or 20T pinion and then u basically need to adjust as u go. Invest in 70,72,78,84T Spurs and then 22,24,26,28T pinions. And it's just teching from their.

Thank you very much. Thats exactly what ill do. The shaft on the 8.5t, is it a 3mm or 5mm? I just don't want to buy the wrong size since I'm ordering from the other side of the world haha. Also whats the advantage of using smaller spur gears? Is it just decreasing rotating mass?

Thanks for your help

The VST series of motors is the standard size shaft (3mm, I guess).

If you are thinking about getting a 8.5 motor, I would not suggest using the 3s battery. As that combination would be very fast - but it would be pushing the boundaries of what the equipment could do. And unless you are careful it could cause failures. The 8.5 will be plenty fast for a speed run - maybe too fast for the track until you get used to running it.

Ok 3mm. I don't have to run it on 3s as this is going to be mainly just my racer. My basic thought was if my other trucks were down and i only had my racer to bash with then id run 3s in it just to keep up with my cocky mates e revo haha. I don't need huge speed. My pede 4x4 is capable of 4s but 3s is crazy enough and thats my main basher.

Tomorrow ill order the viper 8.5t combo, some 3mm bore pinions and possibly some different size spurs from amainhobbies if I can find some.

Thanks guys. I am keen as to get this system!
