I bought the XL 4.5 today for my SC10 4x4. I went to put it in and it's to long to actually put into the chassis without notching it out, leaving the sensor wires hanging off the side. I know this really isn;t a huge deal, just notch out the chassis to let it fit but my question is why isn't it a standard 550 sized motor? I am running a borrowed tekin and I am not totally happy with it but it just seems weird that the motor would be that much longer.
Secong question is will a VTX10 handle it or will I have to go to the VTX10R for it. I know it's a 4.5t but it's a way lower KV rating than the 540 4.5t's. Is it just the amp draw it can't handle or will it be fine?

The "L" motor is still in the development stages - the "XL" will fit in the SC with a little work to notch out the chassis - the notch will not effect chassis strength.
The 10R is the best bet to use with a 550 motor, it's designed to have the extra power the motor will produce.
