When using a smaller venturi (6.5 to 6mm), you must open the needles, is that correct? How many "minutes" is necessary to open the needles?

Thanks. Best Regards.

you should have to close/lean the mixture needles , probably around 2hrs on lsn , then adjust top n the track

remember that the smaller the restrictor the smaller the tuning window and higher the temps , adam runs his stuff about 270-290 most of the time , it is novarossi of course

Default How to Tune by Jared Tebo

The audio isn't the greatest, but Tebo really helped me out with these vid's. Pass it on, knowledge is power.

I learned a few things from watching Jared and Adrien tune at nationals , biggest improvement from tuning like they do is HUGE mileage increases , very lean lsn , little rich top

I'm very surprised that Nova still make the .28 and have not dropped it in favor of a .23/.24. I have some old school .28 here from my MT racing days the Nova .28 528XR modified and it is a animal... I know the Bonito is right up there with the power to pull a Truggy around, But having a look in the Novarossi site last night just surprised me that's all......

what I found interesting from the video is how they lean the lsn so there is little drop on the idle. Im going to try this because my tune has the idle dropping off after about 10-12 sec so Tebo would say its too rich on the lsn.

Monty - how much time gain did you see?

I tried tuning according to Saxton's "How To" video leaning the LSN 1st, then turning in the HSN. I then tried Tebo's method going HSN then LSN. This worked out better for me. My bottom was loading up and now I think I got it.

Tebo's video is about the same ad Bernard Durand From Racing Experiance, he has a novarossi video on vimeo. That is the exact same way I do my tune now

Honestly , over a minute easy

When tuning the lsn so lean be careful not to drop the idle too far

So......basically, do you lean the low speed to where it is on the edge of pinging?

Careful tuning like this with your moogen seriously though , make sure your tank is good to go before tuning like this , make sure your hsn is plenty rich to start with , not so rich it wont run but rich enough it feels like the hsn is limiting the rpm's

Pressure tested every time I clean it. I've perfected the mugen clunk and lid seal. Have run the same tanks for about a year now no prob. Gonna have to try this method for the novice guys here at the plex.
