NOVAROSSI Engine thread....

myself I am not really into ceramic bearings.... IMO they typically fail sooner then steel and offer absolutely zero performance benefits....it kills me to see people saying ceramics help performance as they do absolutely nothing measurable or noticeable...IMO a whole bunch of hoopla over nothing tangible ! I have dyno and track tested ceramics many times over and my results were nothing noticeable...dyno didn't show any gains, and neither did any back to back track testing........that is my story and I am sticking to it,..bur hey, what do I know about engine performance !

I have seen more failure in aftermarket ceramics then I have in factory steel bearings, I wont say which brands....and this is spanning back about 6 years and several thousand engines...I guess i am just not a believer in ceramic engine bearings, tho I will happily install them upon request.....I just don't really see the point of it....If a engine has junk bearings from factory then I will usually just not bother working with that engine....

There are no better bearings on the market ! Period

Myself I have never really had issues with bearings..... On the Taiwanese I have had to change some fronts early, but for the most part I don't really have any issues with any bearings...Which is really crazy when you consider how badly I treat some of my engines.....I doubt there are many people who who run as many different brands of engines as hard as I run them..And I never have bearing failures....From time to time I will change bearings if i feel some wear......Yet I see plenty of other people's engines barely out of breakin with shot bearings.......Myself I think keeping the engine clean, proper tune and a fuel with proper lubrication is the key to bearings.........If one of those 3 things is not in line your going to have bearing issues whether they are ceramic or steel........
edit... I have definitely bearings fail, just it is never with my own personal engines, and I do not treat my engine gently by any means......

"Crappy ceramics fail sooner , novarossis ceramics last much longer, guaranteed "
"There are no better bearings on the market ! Period
"I have no reason to doubt you at all , they are just quite expensive...definitely a slick idea you have putting ceramic balls into the Nova steel races, do you also use Nova ceramic balls as well ?

I was just backing up what you yourself just said about aftermarket bearings just 2 posts previous ! so no need to get snippy bro , I know its the Novarossi thread ! I just wanted to say that I share your exact thoughts on "crappy"ceramics ! I have seen the balls break apart more then once

Not getting snippy at all Neal , just shedding light

Hi.
Where would it be possible to buy those small venturies? Could be a lot of fun trying them and see how the engine perform and how good my tuning skills are
I've heard Adam Drake uses 4,5 mm venturi from time to time. If he can...
OS makes 5,5 mm and they should fit a Novarossi carburator, right?

Please be more clear.....I did not realize I said anything that was inaccurate .... If you disagree with something then please let me know exactly what part of it you disagree with.....

I never said anything about performance gain....but it does feel like a ceramic rear helps the motor spool up faster, but doubt it makes more measurable power.. I have a lot of attention to detail and I can feel very slight changes in my car so take it for what it's worth....maybe I can measure what your dyno can't with my highly tuned sensory input device....
