fat bottom does not make them surge,,,fatter the bottom the faster the idle will drop...only too much O2 in the mixture makes them surge, not too much fuel...too much fuel drowns them out...

This is why it happends with a lean top & fat lsn.After a high speed run,You get more O2 that fuel so it does this surge untill the fat lsn kicks in.

That will really wreak havoc on engine tuning

I had a few issues with pipes at nationals with a few guys running my engines , new pipes , all was well
