Monty have you tried the heavy buku shoes with a truggy? Brian sent me out new shoes and he included a heavy set to boot. I am leary of putting it on the X3 as the pit guy sucks and splashes fuel everywhere so I am thinking putting the heavies on the bonitto and seeing what it does in truggy. Also how would the heavier shoes affect the x3? Should be like putting a heavier flywheel and just reduce wheel spin if there is any right?

Well I've been reading this thread for quite some time now, and I'm itching to get me a novarossi for my Xb9 buggy. I've been looking at the keep off 21-4. What would be a good pipe and header combo for this motor. I'm just looking for good power and economy. Please give me some ideas.

right thread wrong engine I have the same buggy and I have ran the engine you want to get (a friend let me try it out in his xb9) and I have to say it was nice but..... my friend and I love my X3LFM better (he tried my xb9 out) Try a fusion engine it has all the same parts the high end Novarossi engines have but with half the price in most cases. You won't be disappointed, also if you really want your Novarossi engine Monty can hook you up with that and a pipe as well.

I run a plus 4 btta with 2096/41021 with the Houston tune. I pulled 13:32 in a race pace practice on Sunday with 3 other drivers. MY LSN was a little lean as the motor was running 270 - 280 all day but never missed a beat so I left it alone. The 2096 is the pipe for good combo of mileage / performance for almost all Nova or Nova based motors. With that being said I got to see an X3L run this weekend and without a doubt, a Fusion will be my next motor. Can't go wrong with a Nova, but the Fusion X line adds a little more to it.

And BTW my engine just finished its 6th gallon of fuel.

I am looking to get fusion x7 for my losi 8 and was just wondering how good this engine would be, I am just after brute power both torque and hp, would this 7 port engine have enough torque to pull my buggy around?

it slings my truggy around.. never tried it in a buggy... but yes its the best engine on the Fusion line up in terms of power

You better have some serious throttle control if you put a X7 in your buggy.

Houston what is the stock needle settings on a +4c team engine? Also what do you recommend as a good starting point on the needles? I got this engine from a friend for $20 because it was not running right so I thought it might have lost pinch but I took the head off and it still sticks at the top so I'm thinking bad tune all together or maybe the front bearing. He would tune it then about a half tank later it would start bogging down and loosing power like a lean bog.


By the way I recommended he get the x3 race and he said its running great.

X3 is a great buggy engine fosho

Ok so the top was 1hr past 4 1/2turns and the bottom was 1hr past 4 turns with a 6.5 insert. While I was inspecting the idle gap setting I noticed the slide was sticking real bad and wouldn't slide shut leaving a huge idle gap I took it all apart and put it back together and everything seems to be in working order now.

What are some methods of setting the idle gap correctly? I don't have any small gauges or anything like that.
